Actually I did play fakk2 by Ritual back in the days, one of the most forgotten games in the history I guess... Quite amazing what they did with the Quake 3 Engine, but also how fast they got that game out, probably it was originally done for Q2 engine and upgraded though....

Now I'm thinking, maybe Ritual can do something cool with CS:CZ. Gearbox busy with Halo huh? That game was originally made for PC but bought by microsoft and adjusted for x-box before it was finished. I'm guessing it wouldn't take more than a month to get it ready for PC, since X-Box is built on pure pc-technology...But then again, Microsoft wouldn't have had that ONE and ONLY title to promote their x-box with...

I say go for it Ritual, Go Go Go!

Hope this doesn't push back 1.6's beta D:

Does anybody what Gooseman is really working on? Does he still follow CS or what?

The only thing I'm worried about is the delay in telling us it was switched to Ritual.

Let's all collect our thoughts on this one.

In case you guys haven't realized, 1.6 begins the port to CS:CZ. This means that our cravings are going to be satisfied.. slowly but surely. The only thing Gearbox, and now Ritual are working on is the Single Player, and to be honest, I hope they're secretly making a whole new engine because that would really answer a lot of the delay questions, am I right?

About Ritual, they don't even respond to emails. They haven't updated their site in 6 months, and it takes them 5 months to tell us they have a new game. What makes you think they're going to tell us when they expect their game to be done? Don't be foolish.

I hope they don't add anything to the already set game-plan. Like a fucking tank or something.

Ritual can't do tooo much damage to CZ, it looks fairly close to completion by my (horrible) judgement. Most likley they will have to stick with the basic ground rules and basis already layed out by gearbox. If they do, the game shouldn't take too much longer. Come to think of it, maybe there was something that gearbox had troubles with and they knew that someone else (Ritual) could fix it. ONLY if Ritual ends up scrapping half the game, we're gonna have to wait. Otherwise the delay should only be a month or two of transition time. But I'm still worried about why they seem to not be doing anything to their site.

Games only get delayed when they suck.

The CPL announced today the workshop schedule for the CPL® Pentium® Processor Winter Event. The workshops will take place during two days of the five-day CPL Winter Event.

                  Friday, December 20th

                  (...)

                  3pm to 4pm - Ritual Entertainment

                  Counter Strike: Condition Zero

                  * The phenomenon of Counter Strike.

                  * The multiplayer experience.

                  * Capturing the multiplayer experience in a single-player game.

So wait until 20th for answers... I guess the last delay (1Q03) is related to this. So hopefully the game will not be further delayed.

BTW on the TFC/TF debate... think about TF2 like a Natural Selection game type but in a marines vs marines no-sci-fi scenario. Yep, some concepts present on NS seems a ripoff planned features for TF2.

More interesting proof: CS 1.6 IS NOT in the hands of Ritual, and 1.6 is the beginning of CZ equipment introduction to regualr CS. CS 1.6 won't change, it's in the hands of VALVe. That means that Ritual has to stay with at least this equipment in CZ. I'm pretty sure that Ritual is here to finish development, not re-start it.

Like Half-Life... and look what we got in the end - a truly fantastic game. If Valve can repeat that, we don't have anything to worry about.

I doubt it, if Ritual have been working on it since August then that must have been taken into consideration when the beta was delayed from Noember to December. But then again it could be a pathetic excuse for trying to delay it again?

I imagine that most of the changes in 1.6 (other than the weapons) are actually done by Valve themselves so it can link to the original game and the game that might be called condition zero...
