BombSiteX has done an interview with HLirc and HLamp creator Disk2. The interview focuses mainly on HLamp and how it came to be, but there are also interesting tidbits on the man behind the program. Here's a sneak peek:
What was the most difficult problem in creating HLamp?Sound interesting? Head on over to BombSiteX to check out the rest of the interview.
The most difficult problem was probably figuring out how to interface with Half-Life without using hooks and without triggering the VALVe Anti-Cheat. Another problem initially was getting HLamp to work with Winamp 2.x and Winamp 3.0, since they use slightly different commands to do the same thing. Other than that, it wasn't all that difficult.
