You know whats wierd... He mentioned lying down once. And then later he mentioned an animation of diving while shooting. I think I'm seeing the connection here :)

Well if it sounds lame then don't play it.
chances are that I probably won't if the keep up the lameness....still got a right to voice my oppinon though...oh and if you want the reason why I think it sounds lame...check the comments in the other news thread concerning this topic.

now they want to add dive & shoot too....what is this Max Payne(although that's a good enough game...I don't want Cs to turn into it)

If dive and shoot is added to multiplayer. This game will be ruined. I can almost guarantee that.

                  It's not going into multiplayer.

Suddently my confidence in CZ is restored. Not only does it look great (ok, it's no Unreal, but its an improvement), but it has a STORYLINE! Real single-player stuff! Awesome!
I feel quite the opposite. This change in development team seems only to be a sign of one thing: problems. Obviously, handing it over to Ritual was a step to help CZ (otherwise why would VALVe do it?) but I can't help thinking the final product may fall short of expectations as a result of the prolonged and disjointed development cycle.

Even if Ritual manage to create an immersive and innovative gameplay experience, I just can't see CZ competing with the likes of Raven Shield etc by the time of its release. Running on an older engine won't necessarily make CZ any worse than any of the other upcoming titles but it really has the potential to put the title "behind" even before the rest of the game is considered. Sorry for being a doomsayer but that's just how I'm feeling right now. I really hope Ritual can release something special with CZ but right now, I'm just not that excited D:

what's bothering me is more the fact there's no blackout on the sniper rather than he's ugly

I don't know if you're being sarcastic, but I totally agree and I don't see why so many are complaining. CS: CZ was not going to be compelling with the way Gearbox was handling it, in my opinion. It's too early for me to tell if Ritual's will be any better, but if they're actually making CS into a linear single player game then I am a happy man.

I think the delays are annoying but I also don't really care because a) I never really cared about Gearbox's stuff besides a few token ideas, b) I realized that, after, three delays, to not trust any release dates at all. Option b is very simple and everyone here should have learned about it. Whining about delays is as bad as expecting none.

Seems strange how they first say that Gearbox have finished their part(s) of CZ, and that Ritual are now basically handling the day-to-day stuff. They then say that Ritual have started pretty much from scratch.

                            Contradiction?

Either way, its very cool that it's now got a proper single player feel and play, but i'm in two minds whether they'll get it out for Q2 2003 - especially if they have started from scratch.

I'll withhold judgment, i.e. get splinters in the ass.

Paul, did you map for CS: CZ as well? I know that David did.

Well, I hoped CS : CZ and TF2 would use the James Bond 007: Nightfire engine. It's absolutly cool ( Heavily tweaked Half Life Engine ).
