CS 1.6 Impressions

Awp is a gun that you should go 1-1 with at least in clan match as a CT if you were to have one every round magically. When you're bolting the team should have killed you by then. If they don't then it's just a bad clan who can't figure out to throw 3 HE's at him/wall spam/whatever. Awps are most annoying to me when going into the dust2 B bombsite from the hallway. I just can't get them unless I nade them. Aztec of course makes it so if you want to do good as T you can only do a coordinated rush/nade strategy and can't just wing it like you can as a CT because of how the map seems to have been designed with the, "I don't think awpers should ever die" thought.



I really could care less if awp is in the game or if it isn't. I stopped awping like 3 weeks ago so even when everyone decides to awp in a pub you can still kill them. They have to come to close range sometime. I can still awp but I'd rather ak/colt. Awp is just such an easy gun to always get at least one kill with. There is no way you should struggle along if you awp. It's like you have a huge headbox you're aiming at plus it's magnified 2x so you can see it easier.

i played 1.6 at cpl, the shield didn't deflect that much against an ak. the new ak for the t's is horrible.

I personally think there's nothing wrong with the AWP.. I use it. I do not whore with it, but I really don't resent people who do. (Except if they're raping my team 30-1 and the teams are stacked.) If I see someone using the AWP, I make it a point to kill them with the Scout.



I also can't wait for the shield. Reminds me of the shield gun in UT2K3, which I love so very very much.

I'm quite pro-awp as I use it every round and attack with it and all that other jazz you guys are complaining about. However from that interview with that guy that said it stopped all fire I thought it would be the same with awp. Also I don't see how it could still be one shot if awp normally does 100-110 damage from a normal shot which would have to mean it doesn't reduce the damage at all. It would be better to carry a peice of wall infront of you! I don't think this is a final version then because that just doesn't seem to make sense to me.

the deagle+mp5+nades is my personal "paper" for the AWP-rock. i return fire with the deagle and use the napes to cover my advance, then try to overwhelm the sniper with 9mm spray when if i get close enough.



my point is: if the game is balanced every weapon has it's weakness.

very simple, shotgun from behind/anything that allows you to run around and not lose accuracy i.e. sub-machine guns

there's an easy way to balance the awp. take out arm-shot kills, and make the shield destroyable, so a hit from the awp breaks the shield, makes u drop it, but doesnt hurt you except maybe like 5-10 dmg. if u can hit the little window tho, then u get an awp headshot.

the riot shield also needs to be able to be bought by both teams. it's not entirely 'realistic', but you can say they bought it on the black market, make its price a little higher.

thats the main problem with the riot shield: if the awp can go through it, its relatively useless, maybe just good for round (1?)-2. if the awp CANT go through it, and its ct only, then every single map is CT sided, because the cts have a trump card that the terrorists dont have.

as long as the riot shield is ct only, the awp must be able to kill thru it.



edit: deagle is a pos now, they need to at least bring back 1.3's non-jumping accuracy with it or make it as accurate as the usp

IMHO the AWM sucks, but I don't see why it should be removed from CS, as it is important in clanmatches. However, on my PUB server, it's banned, and no one seems to mind, in fact, I've been getting a lot of praise for doing so. The discussion on wether or not A or B is realistfic has to be considered from a CS point of view, not from a realistic one. If CS was realistic, the soldiers wouldn't be buying their equiptment in the field, or have five minutes to do everything. That, and you don't walk around with a life bar, unless they've made drastic DNA changes since last I checked.



So if it's REAL reality you're looking for, maybe CS isn't.

about this riot shield, does it have a window u can shoot thru? cause all this will do, would increase peoples accuracy if you think about it.. if its relatively high, like neck area or face, people will be accustomed to shooting there..just like in a way..the headshot script. its good practice



about taking the awp outta the game...i think you are crazy. the awp is in the game for a reason, not for noobies, to dominate, just like any other guy. to the guys request of what is paper? ill tell you whats paper... its skill, and using tactics to outsmart an awper. like throwing a flash one way, and comming out another. just using small things like that..you CAN counter an awper. i can jump out from behind a wall, and ping an awper in the face long range, it isnt that hard to defend vs. an awper.



i awp a lot, so yea i guess u could say im an awp whore. but to the guy saying awping every rd isnt cool..what if u dominate with it enough to keep it for rounds on end? i think that keeping your awp..deserves to keep using it. i see the awp as any other gun in the game.



...dont take the awp out..its an important part of the game.
