Domain of Games's kick@ss has posted some limited Counter-Strike 1.6 opinions after playing the game at the CPL event being held in Dallas this week. And we quote:
What do you guys think? Should the AWP own the shield? Everyone knows I'm anti-AWP, so maybe my slant is a little unfair.
Riot ShieldWe've found out some big new info: you can buy any pistol with the shield! Then we find out that the AWP still dominates the shield, thus continuing the parade of complete balance that the one-shot, one-kill AWP has been for years now. I hope VALVe changes that, as I can see this only increasing the AWP's versatility and I am very tired of that gun.
The riot shield is bought on the inventory menu and takes up the primary weapon spot. You can use any pistol you want with it. It is fairly effective at stopping rounds, to an extent. You can still get one shot AWP kills against someone using it and it leaves the user somewhat open for attack, as the person can't return fire.
Galil
This gun seems to be a cross between the MP5 and the SG552. It loves to be spammed like an MP5 but deals damage somewhat similar to a SG552. Additionally, the spray pattern is more akin to that of the SG552.
FAMAS
I have yet to see someone use this gun.
GUI
The new CS GUI very cool. It's a lot sleeker than the old GUI and has more options. Console in 1.6 is also totally changed around and makes use of the new GUI system.
Rifle Buy Menus
The rifle buy menus were changed a bit. For instance bringing up the buy menu and pressing 4 - 6 used to buy an AWP. Now it buys the useless SG550.
What do you guys think? Should the AWP own the shield? Everyone knows I'm anti-AWP, so maybe my slant is a little unfair.
