if you think someone is cheating, DO NOT start yelling to everyone about it. you just made the admin's job a lot harder, and if not, you are just making everyone feel cheated.

wait for a moment when only the admin will hear you, or at least as few people as possible, and let him know. don't be angry, just state the facts ("I saw H4X0R turn 180 and shoot 2 guys instantly") then shut up and let him do his job. do not bother him about it again. do not complain to everyone on the server, and for god's sake don't keep saying "H4X0R CHEATS! BAN HIM!" over and over, because that will just make him leave and change his name. the admin needs a few minutes to confirm a cheat, and if he leaves he can't be positively identified.
I wish more people knew that. People always say in public chat at the round start, "<name> is cheating...omfg...disk2, spectate him please. <name>, you'll be caught any second now!"

on 4e, planting the bomb in an "absurd way" is acually strategy, imo. Not that many players know how to plant the bomb off the bomb site.

planting in a clever way is to be applauded (e.g. boost to crate in the truck on survivor)

planting in a way that makes it impossible to defuse (e.g. behind the pipes on de_outrage) is exploiting a map bug and is practically cheating

but i'm sure that's what you meant

The information on the knife is outdated. After CS 1.3 the range on the primary attack was reduced to about the same range as the secondary attack, if not less.

We used to be able to slow an opponent down with primary attack from just inside the range of the swing (around 5 feet), and then rush in for the secondary attack to finish, but now most people just stick to the secondary attack these days (which does around 55 damage).

4e. fairness and sportsmanship - optional rules to prove you are a nice person

don't use AWP if your team is winning

if your team is winning by a wide margin, e.g. 10-2, do not use anything from menu 4. even better, use a pistol. you need the practice anyway.

keep track of team scores - if your team is winning 10-2 and you have top score on the winning team, you should consider switching teams.
                Learn that, bastards...

The CS community would be significantly better if more people read this. For a "newbie" guide, it's written very compitently.

Hey dudes, I have a question: whenever I try to edit my CS target line (I only have cs retail) I get a message saying its invalid. My target line: "C:\Program Files\Sierra\Counter-Strike\cstrike.exe" and what I want to add: -console -zone4096 -noforcemparms -noforcemaccel. Please help me, it can be my christmas present.

7seal, try adding the parameters outside of the quotation marks. "C:\...\cstrike.exe" -console -zone4096 blah blah

Just tested the knife on te_glasswall2, which is what was used in the Summerblue report. The left click slash has about half the range from 1.3, but it is still a bit further reaching than the right click stab. The stab appears to have the same range as 1.3, but without the small extension shown in the destroyed glass panes. Also both attacks have less vertical reach as well.

I agree with everyone else. It's a good article. If only people would play that way, it'd actually be a team-based game with goals and objectives!

Average Joe was coined for a reason. Before, Joe was just some guy. Joe lived down the street and collected Pokemon cards. Not anymore. Not after counter-strike. Counter-strike made Joe a guy that defines cool. Joe is now oozing with mojo. Joe is now something you want to name your kids. That's how big counter-strike is. That's how counter-strike took Joe, and made him...
