        CS:CZ Preview

Shacknews have posted a resourceful CS:CZ preview summarizing the game. The preview has an example scenario by Erik Johnson, lists of items only in the single player mode and much more. Heres a clip.
Condition Zero is now comprised of a set of various unconnected missions where you play a part of a Counter-Terrorist team. How these missions and environments will be presented to you will vary between scenarios and locations. Some will include the lead in with cinematics such as you are flying in on a helicopter and you get a briefing from your commander on board. Other situations you will just be thrown right in to the middle of a scenario and be given vague details of what is going on and a limited time to escape or complete whatever else your objective may be.
Sound good? Read more and while you're at it, check our outdated preview out.

          CS:CZ Preview

Hi all! I just flew back from Michigan and boy, are my arms tired! Ha ha ha. Tough crowd. Anyway, avault.com has posted yet another Counter-Strike: Condition Zero preview. Don't know what Counter-Strike: Condition Zero is? Click on this Counter-Strike: Condition Zero link to find out, and then ponder where you've been in the last year. The interview at avault.com focuses on what they saw at the the Winter 2002 CPL in Dallas and is an interesting read. Click here to see it.

And yes, for the record, I can use more Counter-Strike: Condition Zero and other assorted hyperlinks. Thanks, FLeK0.

            CS:CZ Preview

HomeLan Fed has a new Counter-Strike: Condition Zero preview up. It seems that CS:CZ is indeed using the Ritual weapon models (click for renders). I like the default CS models a bit more, but it seems that most in the community feel that new models in CS:CZ would be a good thing. Here's a bit from HomeLan Fed's preview:
Overall, the structured single player mode in the Turtle Rock developed game is something that might appeal to the experienced CS player who might want an experience that is not just a bot match but something that offers up more challenges for them to experience and overcome. The AI for both your teammates and your counter-terrorists enemies is quite solid, even at the easy level and we think that even well honed CS players will enjoy playing against the AI in this game. Of course, Condition Zero will also have a full multiplayer component just like its parent product.

The second and separate single player experience is from Ritual, which is referred to in Condition Zero as "Deleted Scenes" (Indeed, the set-up for installing the game makes putting in the Ritual portion as an option). This is a more traditional single player first person shooter experience. Ritual's Condition Zero has a number of separate missions, each taking place in a different corner of the world and has you playing as a member of that particular country's counter-terrorist group. From Russia to the Philippians to Columbia and more, your job is to take out the terrorists or enemies that might be holding hostages, attacking military positions or even gaining access to nuclear weapons.
Do you know where your children are?

so ritual cranked up the polys?

                    lol

I still dont like the idea of the new GUI 2.0

I enjoy the way it is now.

                    :-)

                        sounds like:

                        a) they dont have time to make a story

                        b) they are using missions from gearbox

                        c) the quick release date is going to hurt the game

                          sounds to me like:

                          a) you're all silly

                          b) you dont understand the advantage to vgui2.0 (no screen resizing)

                          c) you folks didnt read the article, ritual isnt cranking up the polys- only raising them slightly.

Thats a placeholder using the original Half-Life MP5. The final model will no doubt be much better...

I know...those models look like crap. Do you suppose this guy is pointing a gun at us or a block of wood?

And VGUI2 will make things much easier on players and developers. I'm still hoping they include a plugin system with VGUI2 at some point in the near future. That would let developers add tons of useful plugins to the players' VGUI2 menu.

You're all retarded. CZ is gonna save CS.... And it not, it will totaly destroy it more than it already is.
