VALVe pays narby on commission. Every time you play his maps, he gets money. I hear his rent is due, the baby's hungry, and his car just broke down. Switch your servers to play inferno and Aztec 24/7.
Clever! So DaveJ must be livin' in style now. =)

I have to go to the airport right now and I'll read it when I get back. Not to mention I'll have first hand perspective on the authenticity.

I don't like your avatar. It's against the rules for me to talk about it, but it's not against the rules for... well... that?

The only people who say that forests can't be done within the HL engine are the people who have high standards. Or vision.
                I think it looks fine......

(I just had to post something even if it's useless crap taking bandwidth and database queries)

I always thought the jungle forest cover in as_forest looked great and nothing beat the hidden rat temple =)

                    Yay. I love new maps.

Also "yay" to the fact that instead of sitting around with the beta of comrade on my hard drive I'll be able to play the final version with actual players.

Finally, a break from the infamous "short interview" of DoG. Good work.

Narby, how many polies are the models on in the map?

Are you aware of the fact that CS loads *all* the models in the /models directory when the map loads, including models that aren't used in the map?

By the way, this map has the exact same theme as the one B@tman is currently working on. Strange coincidence :)

                          and?

Oh and you feel the need to pander around implying the ``idea'' was stolen, please cut the shit and say what you mean.

You're also incorrect, HL only precaches the models it uses in models folder.

So... anyone want to tell us what masked skin technology is?

(Lugosi looks in n@rby's direction, but tries not to be obvious about it)

To [ubehagelig]: CS loads both left and right handed player weapon models during caching, but not ALL models (because that would be stupid, obviously.)

It's the way a poly in a model can be rendered invisible, for example something as complex as a fern can have the frons visible, but the empty space isn't rendered. Imagine a window frame being placed as a model, the gaps where the glass go will be masked and invisible while the rest of the frame is visible, all as one poly.
