Evil_sheep: Do you even know how much foreign we have given to Europe? Trillions. Have they ever repaid us? No. Do they even support us in some of the things we do? No.

    http://www.usaid.gov/about/accompli.html

Anyway, there are reasons why we waited. America does try to involve ourselves in things that aren't worthless. Your quick to bash if we go in a little late, quick to bash if we go in too early.

We have spent a lot of money on foreign aid. And you say it isn't enough. Take a good look at our budget.

Do you see China giving much foreign aid? How about Europe? As much as us?

Are you expecting U.S. do spend 10% on foreign aid - and then have no money at all to defend ourselves.

Obviously you don't get that there are MANY MANY things we have to support with out budget. And even a small percentage is a LOT of money.

Do you also expect that people who have hated Americans their entire lives to just suddenly switch their opinions from a few changes we make?

You talk about us supporting other countries. What about China, Russia, etc.?

If we did nothing the nations being supported by other countries could easily overcome their opponents. Who may just happen to be democratic.

I'm not saying the U.S. is an angel, but we do a hell of a LOT more than other countries.

We are just hated for being the richest. If positions were reversed, you think the Terrorists would spend 20+% of the budget on foreign aid? Or even the amount we currently spend?

Also, there is quite a lot of hate from religion. Now, how are we suppose to stop that? Convert to Islam?

America does try their best. And that's more than quite a lot of nations can say.

A lot of our wars have been looking out for smaller countries. Would you rather us be completely neutral? And how can we be neutral if we give foreign aid? Giving aid to both sides of a war doesn't make much sense...

Please tell me what YOU would do. And be realistic. How can America do things better? We're having problems with our budget enough already.

Percentages can also be easily deceiving. .1% can be the same amount of money as 10% to another nation.

Just because we give Europe lots of money doesn't excuse some of the decisions we make as a nation. There may be an obligation to support us but not if we're committing wrongful acts. And I disagree with you that America "trys their best." That's an incredibly broad and unsubstantiated label to put on our country, especially considering how biased we are. Yes every person has a nationality-based bias but there's one hell of alot we don't know.

Abstaining from something is one thing, trying to force others to abstain from something is another. Freedom is ALWAYS a good thing unless you're into BDSM.

That "infatuation" with self-pleasure works both ways, and is hardly unique to the US unless every other country in the world jumped up and formed the "Altruistic Coalition of Earth" while we weren't looking. It's part of the human "condition". Welcome to the SNAFU of life.

I dont see why the US spends so much money on the military, I mean, when are we going to go to war with the rest of the world? I doubt we need the largest army in the world to find some public enemy hiding in a cave...

Would you rather the US have a mediocre army? Just because we aren't at war with another country doesn't mean our military isn't doing something else around the world, or even doing something here in the homeland. What if a few countries that felt the US government had to go got together and decided to invade the US? Would you be wishing for America to have a smaller army while there is fighting on your street?

Seriously, Rizzuh you need to update the main news post. Reading the articles they have only banned Public Gaming. People are still free to go home and play as much as they want. They can still go to a store and buy a copy of CS or HL. What they can't do is go into an arcade or a internet cafe.

From reading the articles posted throughout its obvious that the Greek government is trying to stop gambling, as it must have been deemed a large enough problem. As it says in one of the other articles they are trying to stop any machines that can be converted into gambling ones, so the arcades are attempting to get driving and shooting arcade cabinets legalized.

i would tell the cop to fu*k off when he came to take me away or i would just move out of the country because idiots made that law will probibly make another stupid one in the future like maeby hmm. no sex! STUPI STUPID PEOPLE!!! i feel for every greek citizen because that is just embarassing to even think about. someone needs to be shot. to stop gambeling? my god just make sure no one hears about the CLP, retards, do their elected officials have to check their brains at the door before they vote on laws? what moron came up with that, and what other idiots signed it?? that i the most idiotic work of self governing i have herd of to date besides proibition and that was partily justified but that is just crap...

                      SILENCE

EDIT: i know that it's public but it is still the most retarded thing i've heard of. "i bet i can beat your score on snakes. 20 bucks says i can" since when have you ever heard of that? i have never placed a bet on silent scope at the arcade but i have been challenged. for gods sakes if they wanted to stop gambeling they should just station a cop at every bar in the nation and stop wating their time with banning that stuff, rejects i swear!

Just to let you guys know

This has nothing at all to do with violence and how gaming affects youth.

It has to do with gambling. 3 months ago a reporter caught a member of the greek parliament playing gambling games in a internet cafe. This has lead to new displaying 24/7 how gambling works in internet cafes. Greek government had to do something about it cause the media made it pretty clear that there is a problem there. So that's why greece now bans all gaming and installing of games supported by electronical means cause the can't find a way to separate normal games against gambling games.. Yes this includes solitaire, yes this includes Snake on the mobile phone and yes this makes 99% of greek people and 100% of all greek public services EVEN the guy who wrote this law --> ILLEGAL. BTW you should know that greeks are rarely seen doing stuff by the law. We are #1 country in pirate software.. So we don't even care but it's gonna be funny.. Almost all greek public services are now sued because they have solitaire in their PCs.

Well if that's the case, what percentage of the population gambles? Is this regulating the majority for the sake of a minority?
