        No, isn't a clan.

However I don't really matter all that much, go off and read the sniper's nest!

Sniping "positions" are so pointless. The best position must be calculated by taking numerous variables into account such as where are the enemies and how many of them are there. No way in hell can a static strategy really work.

BTW narby's de_comrade is an awesome sniping map.

Rizzuh's only real accomplishment in CS gaming was probably when he glocked riptide (ex [TAF] member).

No, but what use do strategies have in public servers? Most of your teammates are idiots that rush as CT on de_ maps. These strategies are obviously designed for those who are in active clans, whether they participate in league play or not.

So you're saying sniper positions are not relevant to normal non-clan CS games?

These strategies and editorials are not designed to be everything to everyone. They're here to be useful to those who need it, not everyone know about those places and not everyone has been playing CS for 3 years as most veterans (and I use that term loosely) have.

Just because it's not helpful to you, doesn't give you the right to blindly slag it off.

CS Nation has the most intensely updated and nurtured content of just about any community site, and the sheer amount of time rizzuh and the staff put into it deserves a little respect. If a particular article is not to your taste, or you think it could be improved, send them a constructive email outlining how, instead of ``ya it sux sory you're obviously not l337 enuf 2 use AWP LORFOL''

Yes, all cs players are in clan and compete in leagues.

Well shit, you think rizzuh has yet to discover that little gem of information after being the community news corner stone for 3 years.

                  Read up slick.
If you didn't already have a csn membership, I would say you were "hinting" for one. But yeah, the csn team deserves respect. Respect, respect.

I don't know what type of public servers people play on, but there are some good pub servers out there.

The above strategy's aren't written solid that they must be done. They are there to give you an advantage, but posting them gives everyone a advantage, thus ruining the point :P

I disagree, since on most maps there are only a few routes that the enemy can take, using a static strategy on that map is effective because it takes into account all three routes, and tells you which one is the best to use depending on your weapon. Sure, it's not going to be effective every time, but nothing is.

Hey rizzuh, if you think the Scout is a better choice than the AWP, doesn't that mean that getting a kill with the crummier AWP is more "honorable"? I mean, anyone can sit back and PWN with a Scout. Scout-whore.

No, because a Scout is more difficult to kill with.

For me, the scout is easier than the AWP to use. "Use" doesn't mean "kill other people" with. I simply contribute more over-all by damaging four players than by killing one with an AWP and then getting shot in the head because I think quick-switching is the worst thing currently in CS and refuse to use it.

Thanks for the input, captain obvious. I hear if you buy a smaller shirt it'll fit tighter, too.

I guess we should hire xep as the new content approver, since apparently everything on the site has to deal with clans. There is a large portion of the community that isn't in clans and, even if they don't find it helpful, understand that any little bit could help or give them a new idea (God forbid anyone learn anything).

Not to mention the fact that having more content is better. If we took all the strats out and limited the site only to clan things, there would be one post a week involving sublyme or kick@ss making guesses as to who will get the most AWP kills. How about you just don't bother with what you don't want to see, instead of acting as if the site caters to your clan play.

I think its cooler to make fun of other people and nitpicking their work to hell than to write my own strats. I'm too cool for that.

Well, time for my 2 cents.

Good sniping positions listed, for the most part. Many I've used in times past, and a few I hadn't thought of before, or just don't find effective for me. Granted, half the time I'm "sniping" with an assault rifle, but either way, many of these spots are quite effective if used right (and you know when to get the hell out of there if things heat up). Some of us more "vetran" players probably know most of the spots by now, but there's always a few new ideas to consider.

And for those who haven't wasted quite so much time on this game, there's a lot of info to be had here, shortening up the learning curve a bit. Good content, in my opinion.

As far as all this scout/awp nonsense, time for me to chime in. I personally rarely if ever use the AWP. Even when I was on a T3, I rarely used it. Simply because I play CS for fun, and I found I wasn't having any fun when my victims didn't really even have a chance.

With the scout, I found a good challenge, and like the whore I am, backed it up with a deagle, just in case. Just like running around on lower-skill pubs with an M3... you've got to find the right style of play that keeps things difficult... but not too difficult to where you just get frustrated. If it's too easy... well, there's just a frustrated person on the other end, and it's really not the fun challenge.

Granted, of late I've all but given up sniping in general, and have likely lost much of my skill with it. Every once in a while I'll buy a scout, not because it's a superior weapon, but because it's still fun, and doesn't set me back too much $$$ for a few rounds of goofiness.

Clan matches are another beast, though, and it's AWP all the way as far as sniping goes. The AWP is effective, and with the higher skill level of clan matches, can still be challenging to use effectively.

So there you have it. Use the gun that makes the game hard, but fun, for whatever playing level you're at. Personally, I find a lot more satisfaction using a weaker weapon to kill, even if I get less frags, so long as I'm not overly betraying the good of my team by doing so.
