i cant wait to see what CS for the XBOX is going to be like...

im also pretty excited about Halo for the PC...

my only problem after both of those are released is going to be choosing which system to play them on when im in the mood. what a dilemma!

The whole point of a public beta test is to get a massive amount of people stress testing and playing the game as it was meant to be played in order to get information about balancing issues, and any bugs QA and private beta testers missed.

That's why the good lord made LAN connections. Set up a dedicated server, and you'll be finding other CS addicts in no time. Add a stats system, and you'll encourage dozens of guys to fail their classes in the pursuit of better ratios.

I'd go with a GeForce 4 over an XBOX, myself. Get more use out of it in my situation. Hell, I don't even have a TV to hook the XBOX up to, heh.

I'm on a 56k, obviously, so it'll be a bit before I get everything downloaded. Maybe I'll get to try some stuff out Sunday, anyway, when I finally have some time, and there's likely to be more servers.



I have to wonder, though, if they're releasing the dedicated server files on Wednesday, or if they're just going to let people start fighting for server files or client files, and discovering that there's few if any servers set up initially.



Regardless, the point of all of this is that rizzuh is an elitist LPB trying to opress the little man, and us little guys would rather bitch incessantly about people with better connections than admit our connections suck. Regardless, you can play the Steam beta of CS1.6 on a 56k, assuming you're a patient person. Just don't expect any sort of blinding speed. :) Really, though, assuming you're not a dirt poor bastard like me, the optimal solution is to go broadband.
