The file has been out since late last night. If you go to Steam's forum, there are tons of link. I also have the release copy, the copy I got last night is the same one they released.



I have been trying since last night, no luck on hosting a server. Keep getting steam network error. Clients works fine.

man this is a load of fuckin sh*t, how hard is it too copy a file to mirror.aarnet ( let the alone CS 1.6 patch ) and release it? we want to play 1.6, i dont think anyone is really concerned about this 'steam' , it can wait! i've been on the edge of my steat waiting for CS to be released .. not steam :-/

We're looking for people who would like to run Win32 dedicated servers for the Steam Beta we're planning to roll out later today. This beta release will include Counter-Strike 1.6, the latest version of Team Fortress Classic (which includes the new teleporter the Engineer can build), Half-Life Deathmatch, Ricochet, Deathmatch Classic, and Opposing Force.



We don't have a Linux dedicated server package yet. We'll send more information about this when we're ready. If you're interested in getting the Win32 dedicated server package and running a server, you can sign up for the mailing list here:
