Really it's just there way of trying to make it as realistic as possible, because I think it's funny thinking that in real life SWAT teams press tab and look who's dead.

if anyone else ever says they want to make it as realistic as possible, i would like to ask you to please drown in a plastic bucket filled with a small amount of water.

CS is NOT realistic, it should not BE realistic... even if they remove the DEAD on the scoreboard, KILLS STILL POP UP IN THE CORNER OF THE SCREEN! all this is is an annoyance.

if they wanted to make cs more realistic, heres a few changes they could make.

you need to drop your rifle to climb ladders, as it does not have a strap.

you could add stamina.

you could make all guns kill with two or three bullets, including pistols.

you could make everyone die forever the first time they die in game.

you can stop selling guns out of the air at the spawn.

come to think of it, people dont spawn, lets make them ride for hours on a truck or a helicopter to get in the game.



you know, i probably shouldnt be saying these as possiblities, as valve, at the rate they're going, will soon add most of these.

I give it four hours after the beta's release before people start proclaiming the death of Counter-Strike. Again.



Those same people will still be playing the beta a week later. Yet, still complaining. Never fails.

Btw picture loosing the first round in cs, you would usually save or buy a deagle , now you can buy a riot shield and a deagle and kick azz ; )

About the whole not being able to see enemy deaths on the scoreboard... does this mean

a) that it won't say *DEAD* beside their name once they die

or

b) that you will only be able to see how many people they have killed, and not how many times they have died.

ie:

Name Kills Deaths Ping

Player1 8 (blank) 35

i like the majority of the changes EXCEPT THE STUPID SCOREBOARD, literally u just gave alot of clans advantages, alot of people LAN for matchs, also alot of clans use roger wilco and stuff, u just screwed about half of the CS clans out there, make it a variable please

i think that not being able to see who's still alive is going to be a pain.

that will really change the way people play the game, like when the bomb is down, are you going to camp the bomb for 3 minutes while the last T player is sitting there afk, or lagged out? there's just a lot of "what if's" you you fit into that category. i suppose that will take some getting used to, but i hope they change it back.



on the flip side, i wont die as much pressing TAB to see whos left (;

I have Duron 600 mhz, 256 sdram, Ati Rage 128 16 mb and I'm worried that it doesn't run smootly anymore.

fer sure. the defaults kinda really suck. the custom models i have look _so_ much better. i want to keep that option.

good point. nobody brought that up before. i imagine you'll have to crouch down behind the shield and then reload, but how that is implemented... maybe riz can shed a light on this, since he's probably done it in the preview.
