The results from the "Not who you'd expect" contest are in! Honestly I thought the Photoshops would be a bit better (for a friggin PS2 or Xbox!), but we did get some quality images that are funny and/or good looking.

The runner-up for the name narby's map CS-Nation contest is ... SilentThunder with his submission, de_forsaken. He'll get himself a new All-Seeing Eye registration. Nice job!



And the grand prize winner is: Skinner with de_comrade! Skinner will take home two All-Seeing Eye registrations, a Counter-Strike 2D mousepad featuring narby's de_comrade, and a mention in de_comrade's easter egg!



Cliffe and co. seem quite happy with de_comrade's progress, so it's fairly likely that it'll end up in Counter-Strike 1.4. All the playtesters seemed quite happy with the map (except the fact that 9,000 people were trying to join, so the server lagged like a mofo). It's hard to describe, mainly because I haven't seen too many CS maps like it. It's very, very intense, without being deathmatchy.

honorable mentions

Spirfire submitted de_corona, but his hotmail e-mail address is invalid. That's a shame. Rottencrotch submitted de_sentinel, but because he's part of the CS-Nation team his entry was disqualified. The most popular entry was de_rust.

I think that the one with the girl should have won. The MGS2 pic didn't make much sense, other then the little hostage in the backround...



But hey, he got a PS2 for that, so just think of what you could win for something that was amazing! A car? A house? $10,000? Maybe even Britney Spears for a night! Just imagine the contests to come.

Omg why in god's name did that guy win? What does that have to do with CS? The one with the leet sitting @ the desk surely beat that one out. I mean, it looks like he got that image off a gaming site, showing a preview of Metal Gear 2. I'm really dissapointed, I demand a recall of the votes!! Crap, if I would have known it was going to be that easy, I would have sent you a pirated copy of metal gear, considering that too has nothing to do with the contest. bah!! An outrage!

i dun like da mgs thing either...i guess its 100 points for originality and like effort is not part of it. (which..btw...didn't sum1 hafta b playin CS not MGS? if solid snake was in dust with dat pose, i would b more satisfied by the winner.
