no i have cable broadband.

right now its at 133 minites

i want to know if its acually downlaoding c.s 1.6. it did this last night then it stoped and know 1.6 which i was pissed about>

It is right. I downloaded it all this morning @ 1:00 am GMT and it took 15 mins tops! Your probably hitting the high traffic that is about at this time of day - also several people do say that it starts to drop substantially as it goes along. dropping from 100's to 30 mins or less after a while. Perseverance is probably the order of the day =)

What conn you on Xenite? Maybe you should try and delete steam, reinstall and then retry.

This took 15 - 20 mins on my pc. Obviosuly depending on conn and system spec this could take longer or shorter depending on your setup.

I am on dsl. My updated the platform.dll in a few min and then it says determinating game version and then the frigging: Could not connect to steam network. Either is steam not running or your conection is down. Please try again later.

OMFG!!! I downloaded the SteamInstall.exe instead of zip and it connected......preloading half-life files form disk now!!! YAY!!!

even if cs don't work i am happy now

ok well guys its pretty easy to get the client after its been closed get the client off of people who already have it, i did, sned an email to

and i can send u the 4 MB file u download and install then it downloads the program files

when i start steam it says connecting css network or something like that and when it's connected to there and there pops up that screen where is games, servers, friends, setting etc.

it just freezes there and i can't do anything when i press ctrl+alt+del and there reads steam - no response

well i have 1.6 now but when i go to play it freezes when it says validating game resourses and i have to restart. does anyone know a fix for that
