Steam 2.0 BETA Delayed

I just finnished hosting a game on my box with a cable modem.....it rox.



Once you change the map once...the map chnage is very fast...much faster than it right now.

I was unable to join a server but make one and ppl come...mine was full in 5 mins.

they have all the commands preloaded...so if you type "chang" it will have you and command with that matching text...saves time on map changes and other long commands for the non-uber typers :P



for those who cant get on...the first time is very long load...but once you get in...the cache is good to go....BE PATIENT!!!

new map textures and additions to maps.....ownage...except for the box that was taken away from inferno....as CT you can nolonger get in the balcony by bombsite with out a boost..that will change some strats no doubt.



over all im very pleased.

I think Steam looks pretty DAMN good and I just LOVE it for all the new features. There are so many changes that please me about 1.6 and I can't wait to play it! I got steam and downloaded 1.6b yesterday but working? Yah right. Shit is working. Problem is... STEAM on my machine is like winning the xxx-million jackpot. It actually never works. I must be really lucky that when I click on it it does not disappear into the background while still running as a task! WTF is that!

I thought i was gonna commit suicide, i had to download the cache twice because the first time i put it in 1600x1200 and it crashed and wouldn't start again, just wanted to say it wasn't available, so i deleted the cache and started over, but the secondtime it was already in 1600x1200 and i was happy, and then i tried about 80 times to get cs to run, in a server, etc. It was a bitch. Fortunately, once you successfully connect to a server you never have a problem again, its just the initial connecting, donno why, guess it has to download more stuff then or something.



I am so giddy about being able to alt tab/minimize, and you dont lag out of cs when you do either. And another terrific thing is teh VGUI2.0 thingy, the new console is just magnificent. One of my major angers with old cs was you couldn't scroll up in console, but now you can, as high up as you like :)



Furthermore, if you can get used to the riot shield, you can do some major ownage, especially when people foolishly empty clips into your shield, you wait for them to reload then pwn them with usp (not deagle it sux for rioting)

The famas sucks and galil rulez (to put it bluntly but its only my opinion), I don't know what to make of the new shield yet. Also the new smoke grenade animation and smoke rock, theyre gr8! The new UI is excellent too.

yep thats how i feel too.

famas is just a crappy version of the M4 and the galil is like a beefed up AK
