i was able to connect to a server this afternoon. i forgot how ugly CS is with everything default. i had bad lag for the 1st few min i was there. ping went from 800 back to the normal 120. lag seamed to go away after that. man the shield/deagle combo is tough to beat.
steam loaded and i was connecting right away. i don't like the way steam auto-starts & tries to connect to valve when you start up your pcComment

dudes....just wait. steam is obviously still messed up, and even if you get 1.6, you can't play it online because steam is fucked and that's the only portal to 1.6, so until steam is back working again, nobody can do shit, except lanners. so just chill till they get their shit together.Comment

i just got back from 1.6, 200 even ping, VERY playable, although a server b4 was 500 so not too playable there. But 1.6 seems quite fun, Gail is mega powerfull and HS galore. Shield is SOOOO funny to see.

in aztec, there were 3 guys like 60m away, all shooting at my buddies, i put the sheild infront of me crouch down and start slooooooowly moveing forward, it was funny cause they couldnt do anything to stop me except waste their ammo, i was waiting for them to reloaad so i could shoot them but one got around the side of me and capped me in the head

To all people having problems with CS 1.6, all you have to do is keep trying. Also if there are servers with only one person, most of the time you cant join. I dont know why that is, maby its because they have a firewall running or something also Sorry to all the people that cant play its a really fun new addition to CS.Comment

Can u plzz help me out...i get to the screen whr it shows me the menu for the steam whr it says Games Friends Servers etc..
After tht whenever i double click counter strike it says preparing to play CS and then i get some steam error This game is currently unavailable. Plz try again at another time.
I have been trying this since yesterday and keep gettin this same error..Plz help me i relly wanna play it.Comment

To everyone experiencing lag: that is because the servers you play on are just someone's listenserver, they most likely lack sufficient upload speeds to host a CS server. Give it a day or two and I'm sure lots of good pinging servers will be up.
My dedicated server has stayed on Loading Server .... for about 15 minutes now, I am thinking it *might* not load =PComment

Steam BLOWS, i've been screwin' around with it since yesterday and it sucks. If they merge this crap with CS 1.7, i'm gonna have a world wide petition to eliminate Steam once and for all. It's not gonna work, and the people at valve must be smokin' somthing to believe that people are going to accept this half-assed program. And on top of that, they're expecting us to pay to play a game that we've already purchased and don't want to have to pay anymore. Does anyone else here think we're getting screwed.Comment
