The BETA release of Steam 2.0, which allows access to Counter-Strike 1.6 BETA, has been suspended. Due to some members of the gaming press leaking copies of Steam, the 500 megabit content servers have been filled to their capacity

Unless it's been mentioned already...



They must have anticipated leaks but not to this scale. I think Valve forgot the gaming press is made up of children.



I doubt they'll be so nice in the future.



Either that or they wanted help with the bandwidth thus creating the problem in order to make it look like a professional/accidental problem (marketing ploy)

just leave it be ppl with steam and cs1.6beta, just wait for the re-release so you can play with other people online...Its really no fun alone, i just wonder though when there are gona re-release it though, I wanna play it now!

I know many people would disagree with me here, but I think valve should've gone the way of fileplanet and created a lineup to download 1.6.



This would've controlled bandwidth usage and would have allowed for a much smoother release.

open steam then click counter-strike wait a couple min for it to open up, then create your own server and it should work! It worked fine yesterday but today I cant even log into steam, I'm just gona wait for steam to realse it again, good luck in play though!
