Um, just because two actions are the same doesn't mean their justification is the same. Example: You punch my girlfriend, and in response I beat the hell out of you. That's justifiable, no? But if I beat the hell out of you because, say, you're Mexican, then suddenly it's not justifiable, but is simply an act of racism.



Your motives/reasons do affect the morality of your actions.



Regardless, I do find intentionally killing civilians to be rather bad. When a group of people pick up rocks and start throwing them at other people, however, I don't consider them to be civilians anymore, but rather enemies.



I'd have to say Ryo-Ohki seems to have a certain taste for violence, from his writing. He may talk about how evil they are, but that doesn't stop him from almost displaying some sort of twisted delight in describing the carnage. More than you'd expect from your average CS player, who doesn't care overly much whether there's blood or not.



As far as CS fiction goes, however, there's not much else out there of quality (though I definitely miss the Herman Chambers "CS Notebook" series), so with that lower bar, this does stand above the rest. We're on Ch. 17 now, so those who don't enjoy his writing should have had plenty of time to abandon reading any future chapters...

Didn't capture me as some of the previous had.. Maybe I should try it out, is it just one guy writing or a bunch of different people submitting ones? Well.. actually I guess since its in chapters then its organized by one guy..
