OldFukinCripple, yes, you are also right but we still have different opinions on this topic and probley some same opinions. There have been times where CS got so frustrating that I felt like using cheats.

A lot of people say it's just a game and have fun which is true but when some people are doing horribly bad such as 5-25 etc it is frustrating and not fun which I have been in this situation before where it became frustrating and not fun and thats why people resort to using cheats and some of the cheaters are people who been playing CS for years without cheats and became bored CS players and needed something new for CS that they went to go use cheats.

Also, if cheating is suppose to give you an advantage, wouldn't using buy scripts and using different models which does give you an advantage be a form of cheating also?. It's good to see tho that you are not a asshole towards my opinion as most CS players would be assholes and try to diss me because I think Valve shouldn't put a banning thing into VAC well, that's it for now so everyone have a good day or night !.

Basically, I agree with OldFukinCripple.



WuTang, one problem with the "I bought this, so I can do whatever I want with it" mentality is End User License Agreements (You know, those things you automatically click "I Agree" to without reading it before a game installation). The few I've actually read through say things such as "this Product is licensed, not sold, and the company can revoke that license at any time for any reason." Some even address using the product in ways not intended (such as cheating). I'll stop typing and let someone reply, before I start getting redundant.

When is VAC going to start getting some serious cheat detection? There are so many wall and speed hacks as well as aimbotters around at the moment. It gets really annoying trying to play a game of CS, then to drop out of the game, watch the supposed cheat, and then ban them when they prove themselves unworthy of living.

Alright, everyone gets frustrated with CS. It's one of those games that you love it one minute, and hate it the next. The thing is, when I get frustrated with my poor play, I load up a LAN server, throw in some bots, and practice my aim. You might say "Oh, I don't want to go to the trouble of getting bots and doing all that practice." However, getting cheats, learning the cheats(not that hard really)and possibly getting a new WONID/IP would take MUCH longer.

When I'm sucking an hour or so with 10v1 bots usually gets me better.

Alright, there are many other things to do when a game gets boring then cheating and ruining other people's fun. You might start off with some custom skins, make the game look better. Or maybe get some gag skins to make it seem a little more fun (ex.wolverine claws for knife). The other option seems to be, take a break from the game!! There are PLENTY of other games out there, and I'm sure a few sitting on your hard drive that you bought, played for 2 weeks, then came back to CS. Usually a 1-2 week break helps a lot and your not as bored when you return!

Okay, I can see your point here. Sure they give you advantages. You get off from the buy zone a couple seconds quicker, or the models are bright colours. However, experienced players can buy all the equipment they need if given enough freeze time.

The models however, could be seen as a big advantage. Actually, if someone is using skins that are red or blue respective to the team, I consider this a form of cheating. Unfortunately this cannot be stopped, unless it is in league play, since custom skins are not allowed. Most people though, play with models that simply make the game look more appealing, like every single skin ever made by Dijesse.



Cheating may seem fun to the person with the cheats, they get a high score, and look good to everyone else in the server. The thing for me is though, when I'm playing a game, single-player or multi-player it's about the feeling of accomplishment, not the frag count. With cheats it's a different accomplishment, yes. Congratulations, you beat the system. Good for you. In the process though you managed to make other people have a less enjoyable game to play with. Way to go.

As you might know, I am not really a fan of Counter-Strike - in fact, I find it boring - , so it took some time until I checked out Steam which comes with cs1.6 (or vice versa ) and saw that you can`t use cheats on Steam that depend on starting Half-life directly.



As Steam is supposed to come for all HL mods in the next client patch, I adapted my OpenGL hack so that it now works with Steam-based MODs as well as the current non-Steam MODs.



It doesn`t have new features, but a new injection method, which could possibly make it work on OpenGL-cards which were incompatible to v2.5 of OpenGL Hack. So make sure to try out v2.6 even if prior versions didn`t work on your machine.



Last but not least: v2.6 is based on the reliable hook method of version 2.5 so it`s of course not detected by VAC.



Thanks for ten thousand downloads of version 2.5 ! I`m sure you`ll make v2.6 as successful as its predecessor. Get it now from the Half-Life section to the left.

Im also wondering if all hackers will have higher pings, due to runing the extra programme, and if this is the case, and hpbs lag my server anyway, the policy of kicking anypings pushing 100 would keep cheaters away? Any ideas on that? (NIghthawk you'd be exempt of course:P)

Most cheats will not increase the ping of the player.

I only know of one mod that are almost completely cheat free, even though it hasn't VAC. It's svencoop (www.svencoop.com). Since everyone co-operates there is no use in cheating, and it probably wouldn't help you anyway. It's a nice and fun game when you need a break from CS. Try it.
