Ummmmm no it isnt blatantly wrong that cheaters are spreading like ummm whatever you compared it to, go to ANY piblic server, lets take some hypothetical one, like the biggest one in the UK, they referr to themselves as "your second home" i believe, the longest period of time without any cheater at all, which is the exact same amount of time one has FUN there, was, at best, 10 minutes, then some preteen moron with a name like [fFs] m4St4Bl45T4 comes in and headshot everybody, round after round after round, even on pistols Only servers (where there is AAAAAAAALWAYS some g*t with Colt or AK, ALWAYS, go check yourself and seee) and thus killing the fun, which CS used to be in the olden days, as I rem it.

So NO, cheaters are NOT getting fewer, but MORE and MORE frequent, so i guess its time to find another game with LESSER cheaters in it, cant be that hard to find since CS is the MOST cheatridden online game EVER.

Maybe the hackers arent that common in private servers, i have no idea since i wont ever be good enough to be in a clan, kinda hard to get any better when most opponents can knife me from the CT spawn 3 secs from start when im a T.

And i believe i was beng slated just days ago for intimating that there were cheaters in the game! I have to say I have luckily not encountered many in 1.6 And I have even implemented a warning system on my server giving the platyer a chance to turn em off, before kicking.

Im also wondering if all hackers will have higher pings, due to runing the extra programme, and if this is the case, and hpbs lag my server anyway, the policy of kicking anypings pushing 100 would keep cheaters away? Any ideas on that? (NIghthawk you'd be exempt of course:P)

It doesn't matter how many times they update VAC because there will always be ways of getting around it. Somebody said on here that putting steam and VAC will make it better to stop which is not the case because steam opens up a whole new door of making cheats. This whole banning thing there putting in CS is utterly gay because if I got banned for a month from CS, I can A)get new cd keys B)get a new ip C)search for undected hacks meaning bye bye month ban and I'm back the next day and I can keep doing this without even going through a month ban. Another reason why this is gay because people paid some amount of money for half-life or cs retail and shouldnt be worried about being banned for a week or month etc just because they cheated. I mean, they did pay for it and should have the right to do anything they want with it because as we all know is that the money went to valve and if valve keeps this rule, well, there goes a lot of customers thus making less sales on it products meaning valve not happy campers!. I can go on and on about this topic but I think I'll stop here and have a good day! :).

Wow WuTang thats quite informative, but i dont think that people are paying to be allowed to cheat in an online game, what you just listed.. well that sounds like a pain in the ass for a cheater, so i hope they do it. And I hope each time a cheater gets caught he has to do all of that all over again, how many won id's can you go through? How many times do you want to release renew your ip? The fact that you will hack if somebody stops you from hacking shouldn't be a reason to tolerate the offense. It isn't about stopping hacks or "winning the battle against cheaters" it's more about fighting the good fight. We as a community KNOW that cheating in an online game is WRONG because it abuses the rights of all the other players who also paid for the game. WE as a community have a right to expect a cheat-free environment and have the right to condemn the selfish people who take no consideration for the other people who exist on this planet.

I'm still wanting for valve to publish the LIST of how many people who have been caught with cheats. I'm thinking it's going to be a LONG list.



I just hope they have a fix to stop all the opengl hacks going around (maybe a opengl32.dll checker) as well as the new OGC client hooks that seem to be coming out.
