You can flame me all you want here. Call me a ``nub'' ``n00b'' or any of that other ``i'm far superior to you'' derogatory bullshit but I really think the AWP is a horrible weapon that has little place in a game where all but one guns kill you instantly with a chestshot.
I honestly think the AWP is a gun that requires very little skill to use and hate people who somehow believe that because they went 56-8 using an AWP with a 50 ping that it's down to skill.
Perhaps it takes skill to kill and AWPer with other weapons. Maybe so, but I personally find one or two guys/gals using an AWP can and do take out the majority, if not all of a team. Sorry, but I don't find that fun in any way.
I remember a few weeks ago rizzuh and I were playing militia, we both had scouts and got average scores. We died just as much as we lived but I had an awesome amount of fun - The dying diddn't matter at all because my entire team weren't wiped out in 30 seconds by sniper bob and his LBP chums.
Perhaps i'm bias because I am HPB, an old excuse but nether the less valid in some cases. You can ignore this rant, or dismiss it as some other moron who got killed too many times with an AWP who had to go cry about on a comments board.
I don't play CS to get a good score. I play it to have fun and play with freinds which is why our server enforces rules a lot of you may consider to be stupid and run by so called nazi admins. As rizzuh has said before: ``I just to play on a level playing field''. That basically sums up the server. Dominating round after round with a gun that can kill you the majority of times in one hit really isn't in keeping with that philosophy.
Now if you'll excuse me I'm just off to live up to my cliche nazi admin image and admin_llama some players defusing the bomb I just planted.Comment

Here is the deal, SMGs and Auto-Rifles are totally different strategies. What i mean is, you can be relatively good with an AK, and easily convert that skill over to the colt or aug. Likewise, skill with mp5 often means your decent with the ump or p90 as well. Let me now differentiate the two. With the rifles you must use burst fire, but this can be lethal from long distances as well as short. With SMGs burst fire is just plain suicide, go full auto with them, but they are next to useless from a distance. That is the basic difference between them. Try to get some SMG skills if your a colt whore. If your an awp whore, i don't think anything can save you.

While i'm in a mindless ranting mood, what the hell is with these people who change weapons every 8 seconds. I'm sorry but what is that? An overdose of ritalin?
I watched one guy do this yesterday evening. In the space of one minute he changed weapons 25 times.
Am I the only one who's noticed this? Why do you need to switch so many times?

I get on and kill a guy with a MP5, full of ammo.
As I am reloading, another enemy bust out of a cover with a desert eagle. I switch to my Glock, and kill him. I throw my glock and pick up the deagle.
I reload both. Then a guy with a AWP come in the room. I unload half of my MP5 clip.
I switch to deagle and finish him off.
I throw my MP5 and pick up the AWP, and kill a M4 whore (I said it!) coming.
I throw the AWP to pick the M4. Te last CT is coming. I unload the bullets left in the M4, switch to deagle and finish him off.
Round end
It happened!

It's more random than that tritus, like he'd see an enemy, change to primary (mp5 in this case) then the enemy would move out of sight and he'd flip back between his pistol and mp5.Comment

whatcha do is you buy an m4a1 and an awp. pick up the awp and the m4a1 and keep throwing them down until you get to your desired awp whoring position. then, you pick up the awp and stand on the m4a1. you shoot ppl with the awp, when others charge you, hit G and you get your m4a1. works like a charm :)Comment
