Anyway 125% is about it. For example, it is almost impossible to kill someone with a MP5 if that fellow is an M4A1 whore. But then, SOMEHOW when i circle that fellow, a 2 - 3 9mm rounds would augment into his skull, and suddenly I have the upper hand !!! He would die before me.

What he meant to say is that a somewhat fat ass like yours is about 50% the size of his ass, which is correspondingly roughly 1-2% the size of ruzzuh's special cheeks. :)



I think Gpig20's sarcasm fit the bill right here. Some people seem to whine constantly about the headshots. In that situation Pansy Ranger talked about, I'd expect the MP5 to win. Why? It's got a faster rate of fire, and very low recoil. So in close range combat, aiming near the head is very, very deadly with the MP5, thus why so many people use it. Beyond that, realize that even in real combat, sometimes blind luck decides who wins and who does not.

Wow, someone else sharing my opinion! Clan matches, like it or not, aren't simply about the fun of the game. They're about winning, being the best, and that means winning the most rounds. No, this doesn't mean through cheating, but while the AWP may be "dishonourable" to a certain extent, there's no denying that it's a very effective weapon, and can certainly decide the outcome of a match. And no, it's not akin to cheating, and I'm sure not much of anyone else would think that it was.



Downside is that clan play lost its appeal to me for just this reason... winning was primary, everything after that was of secondary importance. There's plenty of fun aspects to working with a skilled, coordinated team. But I found just playing with my friends, even though the skill level was lower, was more fun for me.



For online pub play, fun is of primary importance, I think. Kind of the difference between a sport and just a game in how it's played. In this case, I know that if I pull out an AWP, I'm just going to piss people off, and ruin their fun. Sure, people don't really like being scouted, either, but I don't tend to hear people complaining about it, because it takes a significant degree more skill to kill a player with that weapon, and usually at least gives them a chance to realize they're in danger before dying.



Don't remember if it was narby or rizzuh who mentioned playing with scouts together, but I've done the same thing with a friend. And yeah, our ratios could have been better, but we didn't really care, because the fun we were having outweighed any concern for ratio. It seems like the more secure you become with yourself, the less you worry about how others view you, and thus the K aspect of CS.



I'm not perfectly considerate, though, and if my team is consistantly getting raped round after round, sometimes I'll pick up an AWP for a round and level things out a bit in hopes of turning the tide of the battle. Not a gun I care to use in balanced or favorably unbalanced team situations, though... as it's not really enjoyable for anyone.



Then again... when playing 2 on 2 games and stuff like that... sometimes I'll set down my M4 or whatever and stick with a USP or pump shotgun... just to keep things challenging and fun. Competition, not target practice, is what really drives CS.

mouth, you obviously have never played a proper clan match before.



Clan matches are completely different to playing in a public server, highlighted particularly by the level of skill involved, and the amount of teamwork and co-ordination present.

Unlike in a public server (where there is usually minimal teamplay) where a team consisting only of AWP users might make quick work of the opposing team, in the clan situation this same team is going to get slaughtered. A skilful, organised team of assaulters (and maybe one sniper -- two at the most) will easily overcome an entire team of AWPers.



This could happen in a public server, and the reason it doesn't is possibly a mixture of inexperience on the part of the individuals and a lack of team-organisation. There's nothing wrong with this -- you can't expect a bunch of random people (most of them without voice comm, which is essential for a good clan) that don't know each other to come together effectively to make an efficient team (not that they shouldn't try, of course).

This is what makes AWPing in a public server relatively easy, as that AWPer is exploiting the fact that a public server team simply isn't as good as a clan team.



That's why I don't like using the AWP in a public, but in a clan-style server the advantages are mostly outweighed by the disadvantages (heavy, inaccurate, shit at close range etc).



Edit: When I'm talking about public servers not using teamwork and clans being more skilful etc of course I'm obviously being unashamedly generalistic, to make a point.

hah...I like statsme...for fun servers, but when Im playing for real I'd rather have it off. Admin Mods great, however, I'm not sure if it should be open to the players on pubs. Its really annoying to change maps every five minutes and seeing innocnet players getting kicked.

Switching weapons, get caught off guard and give the other guy a free frag, especially when you are a AWP whore, is one of the st0000pidest things in CS.
