What do you mean by "have a server ip on you" i know plenty of servers i can play on its just that when i click on console and type 'connect 146.20.81.18:27015' it just freezes and cant connect to the server or something like that....

I have a server IP on me, but it still crashes my comp.

No, Valve did NOT change the DNS mappings, the servers are still there, just that the DNS entries are messed up for some reason. The file replaces the DNS listings with actual IPs of the WON servers.

Today, i tried playing my regular cs, 1.5 that is, and it was all f.....um...messed up. My keys were bound to all the wrong commands and the graphics looked like they were out of a pop-up book.

lol, you might of been fucked with by an admin. we have a command so we can edit your config.cfg file. thats the file that controls everything about your CS, your keys, frames, everything. you have to go back to CS and reset everything if that's the case. good luck

ok.. the fix worked for me... but i was able to choose from TWO servers.. both of which were so laggy.. it was worse than not playing.. sigh.. im gonna go jerk off.
