CS Radio, the apparent voice of the CS community, did their last show Sunday night. You can download it right here and see what the community will be deprived of. u_suk_it no longer likes cs, and ThatHurt says that there's no CS news. ThatHurt will probably be moving to an Everquest radio show, and for that community's sake I hope he's the literate one.
I know everyone here is just waiting for my opinion on this. First of all I hope this means that the absolutely fanatical [CSR] clan can stop being a group of blind clowns that travel together with lynching rope, loose farm equipment, and boom boxes playing static until that fateful time every Sunday night when Shoutcast Radio brings them CS Radio with Steve and Van! Maybe they can do better things with their time, like boil water. There are plenty of smart [CSR] folk, but the NATO-like pact they shared with each other was just annoying. Second, if you're not in the fanatical [CSR] you probably didn't even like the show (because apparently if you liked the show, adding [CSR] to your name was compulsory).
To be honest, the show rarely dealt with the present issues in CS and was more like some sort of time-capsule pop culture hangout that lacked any sort of popular culture. Every show eventually boiled down rigid structure that amounted to a lot of commentary about why one person's way of playing is superior, a top 10, and shout-outs. For me and I'm guessing many others, that was boring. But they're leaving because there's no news in the community. CS 1.6, CS2, CSX, and CS:CZ? Again, let's be honest. This show was never about news, so the farewall "excuse" may be flawed but I think it's a bit more elegant than saying "CS SUCKS Q3 FOREVER" on their main page.
Either way ThatHurt and u_suk_it did a service to the community and that's more than I can say for most of you hideous freaks hiding within the dark alleys waiting to molest a rabies-infested animal. I say thanks to the CSR hosts, as you all should. If you happen to send them thanks, please don't tell them that they sucked like I just did above. I mean, that's pretty mean.
