      what about "The Mind Of the Married Man". it's on after Curb your enthusiasm, and it's better by far. they only put Curb on in between Sopranos and Mind of the Married man so people would watch it.

          the cpl movie was okay, but i didn't like the way they spectated it. I like it only first person view. I never knew tehy used a crosshair for awp?
          When you watch the game in HLTV or watch an HLTV demo, you can't see the zooming so they just give you the crosshair...the player your watching is probably zoomed in and without a crosshair when unzoomed, it just doesn't show us.

            Blahbalicious these are not. Apart from the Militias, CS isn't a "movie" kinda game. Or, at least, the people who make these "movies" haven't proven otherwise. And claiming that 150 megs of fluff isn't that bad for broadband is far too decadent for my taste, especially when there are playable game demos that are smaller.

            Demos for CS don't really NEED to be spliced, considering the depth of play that can happen in a single round. What about the skill of quick thinking and grasp of cause and effect that can happen in the space of ONE 5 minute round? The extent to why sound is so valued ingame? Gone and replaced with a stream of "Hey look, dese guyses can moves the mouse reel good" clips and some generic "rawkin'" "music".

            Granted, these days even regular demos are closely related to vapid "aim-and-luckshot-movies", and the bugs with demo playback are big and inexcusable, but this is to the point of being ridiculous. What, exactly, is so impressive about seeing only 1 small side of the game that it warrants being repackaged as much as HL itself has? Even with fast-paced twitch DM games like Doom and Quake1, this crap would've been laughed at as being shallow. Is it because that there ISN'T any depth left to the game, or because the pubbing majority can't SEE that there was any depth to begin with? Is this mere confirmation of what the community's come to, a smattering of nonsensical aim clips and crappy music? When did CS end up as the MTV of games?

                When it became mainstream. But I think you're being too critical here. People enjoy playing a game, people enjoy "rawkin music", put two and two together and you have a frag movie. It's not going to show up at the San Francisco Academy of Arts Film Festival, but it is going to have a nice flow showing off some impressive shots and in most cases feats of luck.

                100MB is only a couple minutes for the average broadband user, and frag movies are at least somewhat entertaining to most Counter-Strike players. "Frag or Die" has really made the frag movie mainstream, which means there are a lot of poorly put together pieces of crap out there, but that could be said for anything. It's just a game, and on top of that, it's just a frag movie.

                Like it or don't download it. It's not like with every frag movie released, a potential Shakespearian script about Counter-Strike gets tossed out the window.

                  I figured someone would finally say something along the lines of "don't DL it if you don't like it. Must be good such good advice that i followed it before it was even said. Surprisingly, no one had to twist my arm to NOT waste space on my HD.

                  I'm not even expecting high art to come from any game engine movie, but come on. Blabalicious and Operation Bayshield sure as hell weren't Shakespear, but they were fucking funny. QDQ wasn't Hemingway, but it too had a special something to justify its existence. Militia2 wasn't exactly Braveheart by any means, but it was still damned good.

                  Was it really so long ago that "frag" was a taboo word in this community? Now it's "mainstream"? This is my point. This is my way of saying "Duh, george, what the fuck? I don't get it". Feel free to enlighten me if the production of these "movies" makes any sense whatsoever.

                    I already spelt it out for you. I can break it down further I suppose.

                    Frags = cool

                    Music = cool

                    Frags + Music = cool

                    Granted when you have seen so many frag movies it becomes unoriginal and dull, the first time I saw "Frag or Die" I was pretty entertained for the duration of the clip. You always have to have something to carry on your incessant ranting don't you. If you hate the community and the game so much why don't you head over to a Game Cube comment discussion page. They are a lot more mature and angst ridden over there, and everything is an analytical debate on the topic at hand that is closely related to the social infrastructure of the entire community.

                          well, u could argue that when u put good stuff together, u get good stuff. Not really true

                          What if I liked gravy, strawberry milkshake, and chinese food. In theory, if I mixed all three of them together in a blender, I'd have my favorite dish. This is not the case, and probably not the case for these frag videos

                            Gamecube has a few good games for it. Though not many as say PS2.
