valve are the biggest bunch of idiots in the game business I think.
reasons to support:
1) The transfer from a system(WON) that worked awsome for years to a system(steam) that wasn't even beta tested.
2) They "update" things but only cause 7 or 8 more porblems that won't even let the game work.
3) They never beta these "updates" before releasing.
4) They lie to the public when they have knowledge of delays until a week before release date is set.
I don't feel like listing anymore although there are more becuase it pisses me off so much on how stupid they are.Comment

So I guessed you missed that span of quite a few months there where Steam was beta tested? Of course you did.

This happens rarely that something significant is ruined from an update, I don't hear people complaining from all of the other updates that work flawlessly.
They lied once, and that was a year ago.

1) There was an open test for those who signed up a long time back for those who wanted to play the new CS before releasing it on the CS website for WON players. I liked the old design as it was more visually appealing than this one. Anyways, after VALVe booted everyone out of the beta test, they then worked on the new design, released it, did another open test, then started the transition... And forgot that they were dealing with the majority of gamers IN THE WORLD. So... The server sitting in the corner of VALVe's offices went kaboom.

2) Aside from the most recent update, can you tell me one of the updates that broke other features? Do a quick search on CS-Nation and let me know which update created 7 to 8 more problems. I'm rather curious (not being angry so you know).
3) I think the more accurate statement is that they don't have enough variety in computer configurations (like VALVe staff members don't seem to use custom material for their own games). I mean, that IS why the CS-Source beta test existed, isn't it?
4) Gabe Newell admitted they weren't going to make it in E-mails (which I can show you), while Doug Lombardi was being a fool. Being too "optimistic" when expecting the publishers to get the game on store shelves in mere days was ridiculous. However, for the record, an interview with Gabe Newell during E3 (meaning when we were all excited that things were going smoothly) proves that he can NOT promise the game will make the September deadline. I can provide the link to the video upon request. I personally think Doug Lombardi screwed the company over when he kept claiming that they're not changing the date when everyone was ready for the truth.
Well I'm glad VALVe responded and immediately placed a temporary workaround in one day. Hopefully they'll be less into trying ballsy updates with Steam in the near future (just because you can revert the software doesn't mean you can revert our opinions VALVe, please be more careful).Comment

it seems to me progress isn't important to you. just because something works fine for you, doesn't mean its the best system. honestly, the steam platform is revolutionary, and if you can't see past a few temporary wrinkles and setbacks, you're missing something.
