New VAC

Found a site through a mailing list to an ogc site... seems they are still pretty organized, but my main concern is not new cheats, of course they'll make new cheats, is the fact that half the servers across the planet have to reboot with every VAC update... now THAT sucks... but in time they'll fix that issue and we will have streaming anticheat, yeah!



BTW did any o ya'll see the kewl new Halll of Shame in PS1.9? hehe!

ya were really paying valve to update VAC. the only thing we spent was $40 for the game and look at all the updates there doing for free. were lucky that there doing this. of course when more ppl buy CS it creates more money, and if its cheat free more ppl will come. so...to make money valve pretty much has to update VAC

Thats my point... Valve has our money and is getting no more from us for CS so they don't have to update the VAC at all. I highly dought that people will A. Do research about Anti-Cheats in place and B. Deside not to get the game because of lack of anti cheat

TFC *IS* the second largest player community in Half-Life right alongside CS and DoD, and I have seen enough cheaters get caught in TFC, especially around last year and the beginning of this year when Yensid/JEDI/old CSGUARD was catching cheaters in TFC left, right, and center with all kinds of hacks/cheats on our servers *grin*.

They are not supporting DOD because they like it more. I have spoken to a friend at VALVe about this. There are specific reasons they are doing DOD first. Its not because they like it more. There are technical reasons behind it. TFC will get support... just hang out.

Ok your a total idiot. Sad really. You can't even read. Valve is working on VAC. Time is money that is being spent on VAC while they could be working on something else. But instead of that they are working on the VAC to help the players when they don't have to. You don't even understand that they are getting no more money from the people that have already bought CS. TF2 was announced in what, '99? Before? Something tells me that the last few months of VAC support isn't what's holding it back.



Given that, we can deduct that:

Cheats + CS = Valve is screwed.

VAC + CS = Far less cheats.

CS - Cheats = More people playing the game that's keeping Valve alive. CS has most likely made Valve as much, or more,money than HL itself.



Sum of all: Yes, boner, Valve very much DOES have to work on VAC.
