I'm personally going to try to retain a 'blackout' and not view any HL2 screenshots or media until I get my hands on a copy of the game and I'm playing it. Yes I'm that sad, but also that confident that Valve will have done it again.

What i hope, is the Half-life 2 comes out just before DNF and it has everything DNF has been promising all theses years and 3D Realms shit themselfs again just like when half-life came out and they start over......again.Comment

Yeah, it would be cool to see CS 2 come with HL 2 as well, but it isn't going to happen. Valve might be over TF2/C, but they'll want to milk the CS license for all it's worth. What does this mean?
CS 2 will be retail only, like the upcoming CZ. It's sad, but in this world companies only care about profits...Comment

gooseman is actually working on CS 2, not valve as far as i know. which means it could possible be a free mod as was his first. but i might be misinformed or wrong. either way im glad goosey will be back in the picture, there might not have been even a HL2 if it werent for him
plus i think the picture they used with the crowbar was really neat, how the shadow completed the picture and made it a 2.Comment

i think the engine is done, because valve was looking for model animators, so they already gave it to gosseman, he can work on cs2 3 4 5.Comment

1) Team Fortress 2: Brotherhood of Arms was announced right after the original release of Half-Life. THAT WAS OVER THREE YEARS AGO. Go to www.valvesoftware.com and check out the link. They STILL have EXACTLY the same media, screenies, movies, DATES, etc that they did WHEN YOU WERE IN GRADE SCHOOL.
2) Counter-Strike: Condition Zero made the cover of Computer Gaming Magazine...TWO YEARS AGO.
3) CS v1.6 was released via Steam what, six months ago? And it croaked in what, a day? Have we seen or heard ANYTHING AT ALL about it from those cretins at Valve?
You're all being played. There will be no TF2. There will be no CS:CZ, and if there's EVER a CS 1.6, it'll be MONTHS from now, long after ANYONE has ceased to give a shit.
It's over man. We rode the wave into shore. Valve is making press releases just to keep the money flowing. They made one landmark game--one of the best FPSs ever created, and that gave rise to the greatest online game devised yet.
I hope I'm wrong, but I've been in this since Half-Life was released at Christmas in 1998. I've been playing CS since the first week of beta 1. I've heard the propaganda over and over again, and been disappointed every time.
The best we can hope for is if Gooseman realizes he's just the hottest whore in Valve's stable, and the gaming world would be a better place if he just pimped himself.
Fuck Valve. They've lied to us over and over and over again.
