Couple of points.
1) Somewhere in this thread, someone is going to say TFC2. And boy, that will upset the gods. The result will probably be something akin to this:

2) I was told by a reliable source about this definitely appearing at E3 a month ago, but dismissed it. I now (if this is true) feel pretty stupid. I knew HL2 existed, but you never like to believe it's just around the corner, do you? *cough* 3D Realms Fans *cough*
3) If it's showing at E3, it'll be out this year. There won't be any 2,3,4 year delays, and there won't be anymore restarts. Valve have always maintained they'd only show when they were almost ready to go.
4) Imagine if HL2 and TF2 were revealed together, and released in the same package to retail. That would just be.... hmm. Wow?
Perhaps i'm ahead of myself, perhaps this is all a joke, perhaps the game will suck.
Perhaps.
Doesn't stop me reaching for the box of tissues though. And there's nothing you can do to stop me, ha.
EDIT: What if it was released 9th November? On the 5th anniversary of Half-Life 1? Hmm, i should probably stop.Comment

I can't tell you how excited I am about this. I always post something about TF2 in the comments whenever a Valve employee is mentioned. And TF2 uses the HL2 engine so they are highly related, plus HL is my all-time favourite single player game. So basically, I am screaming with pleasure right now.Comment

I see TF2 as the standard multiplayer component of HL2 instead of an HLDM2... The strong point of HL was the single player but no the multiplayer until TFC came into the scene.Comment

I guess TF2 will be the bundled multiplayer with HL2... It woluld be weird to see HLDM2 as only MP option when gets released (sooner or later).Comment

Yeah, it would be cool to see CS 2 come with HL 2 as well, but it isn't going to happen. Valve might be over TF2/C, but they'll want to milk the CS license for all it's worth. What does this mean?
CS 2 will be retail only, like the upcoming CZ. It's sad, but in this world companies only care about profits...Comment
