Maybe like the netcode, the voicecoms and the instant messaging, this is 'future' (TF2) technology in testing... :)

If you read the interview right, everytime the bot encounters a new map it didn't learn before..it will automatically learn it for the first few minutes. Then it saves the navagation data like waypoint files. So its not really a waypoint-less bot. Therefore CPU usage is low
My only worry is that normally, bots who don't need waypoints hog a lot of CPU time, meaning you can never spawn that many. Pod-Bot was fine, since it was all waypoint based. Having said that, this implementation seems okay, since past the first run through, it should be fine.

WOOHOO
I got tired of pod bots. I hope you can't predict what these new bots are going to do a few rounds into it like you could with pod bots(though that didn't stop me from playing a while with them, it's just now if I want to play with bots again they'll have to be somewhat convincing rather than every round fighting me in the same spot in the same way like pod bots did).Comment

Integrated multiplayer bots is a good thing expecially during off hours when the regs of any given server are not online.
As to future versions, at the current rate it appears that 1.6 is going to possibly stay a Steam beta and 1.7 will be the next final release version when CZ is available in May/June. CS 1.6 beta hasnt been updated since March 4th, although Steam itself had a couple of platform updates since then.Comment

I love bots, they say intellegent things like:
"I should really go to bed now"
"BOOM!, lol"
"Hey (put name here) you fucking hacker"
"Time for a smoke break"
"Check out (name here)'s stats"
"I like to eat little children"
"I made the last one up"
Ok that is why I want bots.Comment

yes but this is a firewall the college put up that blocks all types of information like that, no downloading through p2p preograms, no games online, no irc...its not just like a DSL firewall, this is intentionally blocked. ive tried steam, no go.
Steam works fine through my Netgear router and that has a firewall built inComment
