Clean your guns? What the bloody hell are the thinking? If that actually happens, Valve can be easily refereed to as the biggest bunch of drunks on the planet Earth. I doubt it though, because that idea is just too stupid, and I'll bet no one would want it in Half Life.
I absolutely agree. i would hate having to waste 5 min on posssible fraggin 2 clean a gun then unjam it then errrr..... load it..... etc.... that would piss me off soooo bad!! valve would absolutely kill the game if you had 2 do that every min.

btw gameplay is much more important than graphics!!!

like super mario games for nes and snes r still sum of the best games ever made and im still playin them cause there sooo damn fun.

THE HUGE PREVIEW. It was sweet.
Hmmm... looking in the back of the May PCG:

        BIGGEST. GAME. EVER.

We kid you not. Don't buy any other magazine until you see our exclusive blowout coverage of what's certifiably the biggest game currently in development. That's got you thinking, hasn't it? Oh, we'll have a great reviews slate, previews of an amazing new franchise, and more Hard Stuff - but you'll come for the unveiling of...

Yeah, but bear in mind guys that it's 90% certain that that's all a load of bullshit. If you read through the thread you'll see that it turns into a good old internet flame war towards the end anyway. The person that posted it in the first place reveals that everything he posed was just a rumour from someone else. Don't trust rumours.

From that discussion at gamershell forums:
Oh, HL2 IS being made, no doubt about it.....

This is just a load of crap though
What do you mean? It is all bullshit, am I right?
                  Well, Kind of
edit: I'm talking about the new features such as "cleaning the gun barrels"... the guy basically admitted that he made it up.

Nice CGW cover, btw... can't wait to hear info from E3.

Take me with you, MikeJ! :P

As I said over on PHL I doubt there'll be a release this year. I wouldn't have thought with the amount of work Valve put into Steam and Counter-Strike over the last 1-2 years and other projects like Ricochet and more recently DOD that they would have had the time or resources to concentrate on such a big project as HL2.

I reckon that for there to be a release of Half-Life 2 this year with a new storyline, improved gameplay, new engine, new physics engine, new everything then Valve would have needed about 2-3 years work on it. Surely they wouldn't have been able to keep it quiet for so long?

Then on the other hand there was news many years ago, around the time they were JUST about managing to update us on TF2 once every 8 months, that Valve were developing their own engine. If they've carried on developing that engine then it might be possible that we see it within the next 12 months. I've also just had the thought that Valve doesn't work on CS:CZ anymore, they seem to have almost abandoned Steam and CS 1.6. In fact, as far as we've been told, all they're doing at the moment is helping the DOD team build up a retail package - that can't exactly be hard. Perhaps the lack of work on their other projects means they are concentrating their efforts on something big.
Glad you commented here. I saw your post at planet Half-Life and it was the last one I read before closing the browser thinking there was nothing in that thread to read.

Valve has had 4 years to work on it. That's enough time. As for those other projects, Valve has what, 44 or so employees? Just go look. How many of those names do you recognize as being connected to cs? You can recognize a few and then notice that the ones you recognize are just one of several people who have the same job title. It's not like they're pouring their entire team into CS and the mod scene. They have the people and they've had the time. Why not?

I had something else to say but I forgot. Pretend it was something witty and yet important.

Oh now I remember what I was going to say. That Half-Life 2 story is bs obviously. Since when was Half-Life realistic? Did gun cleaning all of a sudden become fun? I know it's obvious but if I'm going to post I might as well put my stance on other stuff as well.

I agree with what you are saying, gpig... they seem to have enough employees and time to have been working on HL2... although now it is confirmed anyway. :P

Oh, and your final comment seemed wittier when I pretended you said it. :/
