The article is pretty good. Summarizes basically what we learned so far about HL2...



And from the screenshots/scans from that site (if they're real) HL's graphics look too good... I mean, simply too good. I'm sure I'll never run something like that on my computer without at least $150 worth of upgrading...



Again, if the screenshots on that site are real (I'm beginning to doubt if they are), it makes me wonder if HL2 isn't going to turn out to be the next "technical graphics game", a la Quake series. HL has always been about the immersive atmosphere, gripping tension, not flashy dazzly sparkly water and true to life physics which require incredibly high specs to run properly...



but... but... I have faith in Valve, so I'm just going to sit back and see how they do this time.

oh goody! at least my speculation was wrong, cuz i thought they might have lacked creativity, since i really think they are gonna release it Sept 30, crappy plot or not. hopefully no stunt like that will be pulled. i actually won't mind it if they pushed the date back, but i wouldn't put my money on preorder.



jason, about teaming up with Xen, say what??? i have to bunk with this guy? but he doesn't bathe, and he keeps licking himself... cool if you think about it, but i bet there will be a double crossing somewhere or something evil with teaming up with em. gotta be. we killed their leader and countless number of their race (see: mass genocide). some wacky stuff will play itself out...me bets the life of my imaginary recipient of anger skerp again.

Wtf am i supposed to say here. This game looks amazing, and if all you need is 700Mhz, it must be a good engine too. Definately guys, I really do think we will see TF2 this year, now that the HL2 engine has been unleashed. This was actually what was holding them back on releasing it, originally it was supposed to have a minor graphical update similar to CS:CZ. However, imo i really do doubt CS2 will be released this year.



Still, SEXY ENGINE. Jus look at the use of pixel shaders on that water, quite obviously thats with a decent gfx card :) I think it will be a similar affair as it was with morrowind, where that kinda water detail is only there if ur hw supports it.
