Jason, where did you get all these quotes and info?
I get all my quotes from the Pcgamer article - I spent some actual time and typed up the quotes for you guys to read who dont have the mag yet. (all of the info is what I thought was the coolest) - even thou there are sooooo much more cool things in the article (like the EYES!) - I just mentioned the ones I thought sounded coolest.

    * this is a public apology to NIGHTHAWK *

Sorry about always saying TFC2 - I will always say TF2 from now on.

Also --- --- It's time for me to go play more HL 1. Gonna beat it again - just for shit's n giggles. (everyone download Get busy - by sean paul! - lol)

*I did not give out ALL the cool info - meaning you still have to buy the magazine when it comes out, Pcgamer should sell out with all this advertising it's getting.

The gods of proper acronyms have been appeased. :)

To those following all the released pictures...

Alright, the prison scene with the guard above. Have you seen both versions of it? One is from Computer Games Magazine, the other from PC Gamer Magazine (which features added text insets).

Is it just me, or does the scene in the PGM look a whole hell of a lot cooler than the scene in CGM? I mean, it's the same scene, but the coloration is soooo much different. PGM looks darker and spookier, where as the CGM version looks rather, well, blah. Very different brightness and even overall coloration on that version. The CGM scan is more red, as opposed to more yellow in the PGM version it seems.

With that in mind, I'm really curious how much the quality of scan jobs are influencing our opinions of the game, for better or for worse...

What does fleshed out mean? Someone please explain.

"Fleshing out" details is like showing them more and more as something goes on. Think of it as emerging with time.

In the case of the context you're thinking of, it means that, as the story progresses, out of all the security officers, one will pretty much be the main sidekick, and you'll find out who as it progresses.

And with that, I'm gone for the day (and, with any luck, the night). Behave yourself kids... :)

Well Nighthawk - they are OBVIOUSLY the SAME screenshot.

I haven't noticed too much that was diff between the 2 articles - I even opened both at the same time to check - one thing is the Cgmag one is a LOT smaller than the FULL pager Pcgamer one. Overall I think they are the same and it looks amasing - and the headcrabs look quite == hmmm == Bloody? -- if this game does not achive a M rating then we need to strongly check out ratings. As the screenshots alone - look like they need a M rating.

oh well -- both screens look the same to me. (just diff sizes)

I just started it again to. Its an amazing game. I mean its the only game I play that makes me so scared I sweat on my mouse. The level of realism is just crazy I actually feel like I'm working for black mesa. OoOooO its a great job. Thanks valve.

Looks to me that in the CGMag2.jpg (per the legally questionable link in the posts above) image the guys leg is clipping the corpse... Hope that's something they will really implement, it would be nice if guns didn't clip into the environment either. Ideally bodies would pile up in doorways and literally block the way >:)

[Edit: I probably should have double-checked that info before posting. For now, I changed it to questionable, thx. -Nighthawk]

I love the BBC, but seriously, wtf:

It is not yet known whether the new Half-Life follows the original and remains a first-person shooter.

Ah... thanks for the quick reply...

So, all those quotes are true, from an reputed source, PCGamer... for awhile I thought they were just random rumours people decided to create. If they're true, HL2 is going to be very cool.

However, I'm just wondering if anybody knows why PCGamer just decided to run an article about HL2..

Was it because after the original "Gordon in Snow" picture that leaked out, Valve decided to release other details about the game... and PCG got the info and ran the article? Or did PCG originally plan to run this article (and pictures) anyways, but then a picture was leaked?

Can anybody clarfiy this for me?

I got all nine pages of Half-life 2 scanned from PC gamer from a site that got borked one hour after I posted it. Each JPEG is about a megabyte in size so if you want them just e-mail me at Apocalypsecow16@yahoo.com. It might take a while but I'll try and send them out.

It turns out some people got the next months issue instead of the current one. It's really funny though because PC gamer was threatening some of the people who got the magazine mistakenly. Imagine that... being threatened for another person mistakes.

I have all 9 pages as well, and I already mentioned I would send it.

Yeah -- well -- all the quotes I have mentioned are from the 9 page article. -- and all the screens look AMASING!

I can't wait -- I loaded up the Doom 3 Alpha to compare - and I like HL2 better. mAUAHAAHHA

yes. a lot last night. i thought rizzuh had banned me for posting on the new news! but luckily he didnt :)

also, the level of detail they did is insane. with the eyes they actually set them with a 4 degree ofset from center, which everyone has. if the eyes were perfectly straight everyone would walk crosseyed!

Jason X, so did you actually get the newer PCG article in the mail, or did you find it off the net?

Walking over bodies? Heh, imagine killing someone who was next to a box in CS2 then walking onto their body then hopping onto the crate. I plan to do it to my teammates in clan matches.

I found a HIGH RES one off the net.

                                So - I'm just readin that --

Of course when the mag comes out I will be buyin it to see the other games coverage.

                                --- My high res ones are resolution - 800 x 1080.

They look GREAT -- so I can easily read the actual article.

of course -- if I did get a early one I probably wouldn't tell anyone, and if I posted them on the net I wouldn't show my name or anything that may link it back to me. :-)

And it's SITE 17 -- not 12 -- and -- no one knows whats up with the so-called snow.

And how the leak happend was - PCGAMER accidently sent the June issue to some people, and those people started scanning and posting the pics all over the place. Pcgamer didn't like this and has shutdown MOST sites that had the pics on them.
