I can see how people get cheesed off with immature Admins, I do as well, but at the end of the day, as long as they don't change any of your variables or bind any of ur keys, u should just ignore them.



They do pay for the server or whatever yadda yadda yadda, so if they are jus slappin u or some such rubbish just leave!

Its not your god given right to be able to play on a immature-admin-free server.



The next time an admin is slappin u or whatever, turn around and leave (thats what typing 'quit' in the console is for), and if he re-binds ur keys, its a reminder to write protect ur cfg's.

If you go onto an admin mod server, just remember, the admins of that server are payin for it so that they can have fun, its not their duty to the community to provide that free service. If they rebind your keys or whatever, then more fool you



One more thing, I take offence at Rambozo's comment regarding down's syndrome.

When people join a server, they're there to play the game in its entirety, not read your half-assed Rules of The Moment. Especialy since the only rules that make sense are the ones that don't need a fucking MOTD in the first place. It's exactly the same as people not wanting to join 100 different servers with 100 differences in the game physics: they're simply more interested in playing the damned game than they are in heeding some asinine "rules".

Thing is: if you are to play on my server, you are a Guest and should act accordingly. In real life, you wouldn't go about and offend your host, now would you? I also regularly kick or ban players that I don't like as, since there are about a zillion other servers to choose from, I don't want me or any of the players on the server exposed to a prick.

And joining multiple servers before you can settle down and start playing is fucking absurd.



In real life, you don't make a jackass server that ignores a good portion of CS' gameplay and act surprised when the people you end up with are retards. In real life, if you open your house and invite people in, then expect them to hop on one leg, you're going to get a sound "Fuck you" or you're going to get a house full of stupid.



Also, this is not your "house". Your house is private property and not advertised to several hundred thousand people. You don't open your house to the public and expect to get away with acting like a dictator.



Again, part of the problem is with admins being arrogant enough to think that it's their place to abuse anyone who doesn't immediately conform to their will.

No, it's their duty to go all the way and provide a server that people can actually play the game on. What kind of scum goes to the trouble of setting up a server just to abuse the players? What the fuck? It's the same principle that grief players and cheaters use to care only about THEIR fun. What, just because an admin MAYBE pays for it out of his own pocket, that makes that behavior acceptable? No dice, poncho.

So, there are a lot of servers to pick from. Who here is stupid enough to think that it's quick, easy, or fun to constantly look through that many servers to find a new one after 5 minutes of play? The fact is that expecting players to go to the trouble of connecting to 28,000 servers just to find one that doesn't have a jackass admin is absurd. We all know that the best games are had on servers that you can keep going back to, and fuckhead server admins do nothing but make this ridiculously difficult. Yeah, some of them pay to have a server. So what? Under what logic is it ok for them to dilute the server selection just because they shell out some cash? How in the hell is it acceptable for them to be a burden to the community just because they managed to get a few shifts in at Kinko's?

It seems that you failed to pick up on the aim of this point since you were far too busy gettin angry and attemptin to flame everyone's comments, I meant that you should treat all servers in counter strike as if they come with a disclaimer, 'we cannot be held responsible for silly admins coz we paid for the server'. If u go into a server that says 'this server is set to allow commands to be run.....' then you should accept that someone can and will run silly commands. There are still plenty of immatture admin free servers, just go to a majority of pubs, they always appear to be admin free.

To conclude I would like to say that I think that admin mod is a great tool for servers, and that the ways in which it is used well far outweigh the ways in which bad admins abuse it.

the thing I hate most is going to a server with people who dont realize you CAN go 100-15 on server full of noobs and not be hacking.



i have never hacked and never will... been playing since beta 7.. get kicked/banned in about half the servers i play because im better than the noob admin.



at least no one has ever screwed with my settings... that would make me hunt someone down in real life for a good ass kickin.

I'm a average player, i do pubs, clan matches and in every pub i play, I always follow the rules. Sure there is a lot of stupid admins but some of them are not that bad. In my server I'm a good admin who respect other players and try to HELP THEM OUT, not ruin their fun! Look if you join a server with a stupid admin just let him play alone and find another server. If yuo join a server follow the rules of take another server . Look admin pay for getting their servers and if they want to be a bunch of stupid &*"holes its thier problem..

We use adminmod for the control it gives BACK to the players. Our admins bar the top few who need it for maintainace etc ONLY get kick/ban/admin csay. The main reason we have Adminmod is to allow players to vote for the next map, and augment the others players ability to keep their games fun ie/kick ban or tkpunish. If you piss off enough people for the system to work then you deserve to be gone from the server. Our admins can't be on the server 24-7 they have lives regardless of whether the players don't. Adminmod means we DON'T have to be there for the server to keep running and the world to go on etc.



If you came into my house and pissed on the carpet I hope you would expect to get a bloody nose. If you come into a server and piss everyone off and act like a dick and/or cheat then guess what... YOU GET A BLOODY NOSE. We aren't gonna rebind your keys or turn you into a chicken or anything but we sure as hell will get you off the server before you ruin it for everyone else. Don't blame adminmod because of the state of so many in the comunity. I know hundreds of really great gamers, Ive also met loads of real dipsticks and fortunately having adminmod means that I and other players on the server can keep those moments of anguish to a minimum.



Finally, people tend to play on servers that they like again and again. When you find one you like with good admins keep going there. There is a reason why our server is ALWAYS full, a) its too small :p and b) we've made it so you don't have to hunt off for an admin if everyone thinks you are cheating. Now if you have a very high score you will need to be a nice guy or they will kick you off, so we end up with a core of good nice players. There are loads of other good reasons why people use adminmod, its not satanic is it? When you find a crummy server don't go back, its pretty bloody simple, at worst you've only got 27,999 left to try out. If you don't like ours either thats only 27,998 left I'm sure you'll find one you like. Just a tip though, when you do, don't go on a 1337 tk rampage cause its really funny or you will find yourself searching the remaining 27,997 servers.

You 2 bring up alot of good points. I have been an admin on the same CS server for about 3 1/2 yrs. There are 15 clan members, 3 super admins, and 12 sub admins and we all adhere to a code of ethics. Losing admin is easier than getting it if you're not careful.

We get alot of comments on our server like, "I don't play here cuz your server is the best running, I play here cuz of the people and the admins keep out the trash."
