cpoint: admin mod

For the counter-strike community to change from the mindless children that run a lot of servers at this moment to a group of people just wanting to play a game will take a slow movement from the people that are not children taking it upon themselves to be fair admins and run a server justly.



Speaking from experience. I admin a server that allows NO disrespect, no hacking or anything else out of the way. For hacking its a instant permanent ban, for any other rules broken it's one warning then permanent ban. To enforce this it took alot of time and patience to find the right people to give admin rights to, but it was all worth it. The server is monitored for the most part and the llamas are sent packing.



This may seem harsh but the server has a regular base of very cool people to play this game with. Its a place where you can chill out and just have fun without having to deal with alot of the bullcrap that goes on in alot of other servers.



No this is not a advertisement for the server, i just wanted to share my experience in trying to clean up my corner of the counter-strike community.

This article was written (as you can see by the headers) before the metamod hitbox craziness was officially uncovered. That's why it wasn't included in the article. If we knew about it when we were writing, it would have certainly been included, as it's pretty big news.

I hate those 24/7 deathmatch servers, specifically this helms_deep one. Exactly what CS needs: a 24/7 NIPPER map based around the 2nd lord of the rings movie with deathmatch_mod, hook_mod, beammeupscotty, and lasergun. n00bs gallore.

As for WC3, I think it's fun. After playing this game for like 3 years, it's about time a change came along. It's not that big of a deal, and if you don't like it, don't play it.

The same thing could be said about admins, but if youre playing on your favorite server where you get 25 ping, it's really not cool if you get banned for saying "hey admin youre camping",

this is a little different than the bush scenario -- bush does not own the united states (in which case he would have the right to bomb it) he was merely elected as president... listen to what he said when he was sworn in if you are still confused



admins pay for the server and can do whatever they want, you said the server wouldn't be there without the players.. that makes no sense. The server would still be there, because the admin paid for it. Get your own server if you don't agree, i got one at www.sandwiregames.com its a great server for a affordable price and now i dont have to worry about abusive admins.

I just got backed from being slapped around on de_aztec. Admin mod is 110% useless and shouldn't be used, period. If you can't trust your admins with rcon you can't trust them at all. As for the voting thing there is a votemap command built in to CS. meta mod and anything related can go to hell. They are only there for abuse. CS doesn't need anything extra, it's fine by itself and rcon gives you everything you need to handle abusive players.

Another thing, If your an admin and you wanna do whatever it is you wanna do and tell people go play some where else if you dont like it, why dont you make your server private so that we can play a real game of good ole' cs. That way the players dont waste their time, and you dont have to show off your bull crap admin_exec_client MAKE THIS MOFO BIND MOUSE1 +quit.

Hmm. I'm just gunna add my two cents worth by saying Ops = Admins. You get bastards, you get ordinary decent ones and you get guys who occassionally act up cranky and torture some pleb who caught them at the wrong time.

Playing CS i haven't really run across any dipshit admins, perhaps because NZ servers tend to have an isp's name plastered all over them and don't want to be associated with that shit?

I think it's just a matter of responsibility in who you give power to. The top admin just need to think about who they're giving de powah to. Your 13 year old cousin who goes to anger management is probably a worse choice than the guy you think is a bit full of himself but plays religiously and is even-handed in his sledging.

Basically if you play on servers run and paid for by kids, you're going to have to deal with them being kids. Lighten up or move on. If they screw you, flame 'em, ddos them if you really must, but don't let it get too far under your skin, it is after all, just a game and there's thousands of other servers out there.

I can never find really good custom map server's, and there's a lot of very cool maps out there. It just get's so boring playing the the same official map's for 2 year's, ya-know what I mean?



I've played on this 1 server for a long time and a lot of common player's there know that I'm a good and respectful player. Not to long ago a player joined that I've never seen before and all was fine until I killed him 4 times in a row, 2 were head-shots. He get's all pissed and start's calling me a cheater. The match goes on and I kill this bad player 2 more times, later porn spray's start popping up every where and this so called responsible Admin who's a jerk-off sometime's when he's on say's who's ever doing that STOP IT! Then out of the blue the player start's saying that it's me and doesn't let up. So simply to prove that it's not me I just start to spray any-1 I kill during the match + record a demo of some other player that was doing it. Nouf-said right? NO. On the next map I just happing to spray some-1 and than I see NOT MY SPRAY but the spray of the Admin's. I then say that it wasn't fair 1 time and he kick's me off the server. So I'm pissed for a while but I'm like OK what ever life goes on right? Since I use ESSpray2 for my spray's I think to myself that I'll just change it back the next time I play CS right?

The next day I decide to play a little CS while I white for a friend. So I start up ESSpray2 to pick a spray and Gauss what I CAN"T because they're not there and all my spray's are gone and all other spray's are locked up some how. I had to uninstall & reinstall + put all my spray's back in. (Very time consuming) I emailed him and told him the story and sent him the recorded demo also. He responded with this. "SO WHAT I DON'T GIVE A CARE STUPED!!!" He said that to ME, that right there, and after I've helped him keep his server free of cheater's and bad disrespectful ppl by sending him demo's of cheater proof that he ask ppl for all the freaking time. I always obeyed all his server rule's. It's not like he doesn't know the kind of player I am. I've played with him many many MANY time's and also chatted with him while we were both dead, and he has the nerve to do me like that.;-{ All I can say was I wish I knew how to hack, because if I could OOOBOY! would I ever have some fun with his site & sever. As for me being cheater YEAH RIGHT! I've only been playing CS since like the beginning, can I help it if I have skill from playing this lovely game for a little more than 2 or 3 years? Come on give me some freaking credit for once.
