I lost my admin after 15 minutes for using csay and tsay too much. Not spamming texts but saying nice shot and other comments. lol.

I admin several servers. I like admin mod because it allows me to have greater control of my servers.



I use execclient for just a couple things, first, to execclient say for one of my friends. as a joke. Second, I unbind the keys of cheaters. I think cheaters should be happy that it's the worst an admin can do to them. Mostly though, I have execclient on for plugin_speech (Perhaps other plugins too). It allows you to use the Half-Life voices to say some pretty funny things and let it be heard by everyone on the server, just a specific team, or just a specific person.



There are 3 admins for all of my server, including me. All of us are adults. However, we do not put up with the normal bullshit most servers put up with. Like players trash-talking other players for not doing something their way, or just plain being an ass (or lamer as some put it). We have servers so our group can have a nice place to play, and we leave them public so that people that just want to play the game and have fun without ruining the fun of others, can do so. We have rules listed clearly in the MOTD and on our website. If you break these simple rules, you are subject to the wraith of the admin(s) present. Ignorance is not an excuse, one should always try to read the MOTD of a server they've never been to.

Admin_execclient is the most worthless crap ever. I read a thread at the AM forums and they said it had reasonable functions like......

oh, I don't remember any. Maybe there weren't any.



The last thing I need is some admin changing every one of my cl_ and ex_ values and running "quit" on my client so the settings save.



They have a disclaimer saying that the admin can run commands on you. However, since not everyone has console enabled, so they can't see that warning. I'd be interested in seeing if there were some way to pin a HL/CS TOS violation on adminmod.

I think the point of certain adminmod functions are much more suited for "fun" servers where people are goofing around, not seriously playing. Though I can appreciate a goofy admin that does crazy (harmless) crap to random people for fun while everyone is running around having fun; knifing, clicking off and on their flashlights to make noise, "dancing", doing a touchdown dance with a HE nade, etc. It really bothers me when a serious server has a sadistic admin log on and start abusing people.



I myself was an admin on 2 different servers, and though I wasn't the most level-headed admin, (too much power for one man lol) I hopefully made playing on those servers more enjoyable. Hell, I'd use admin_slap on myself when things got goofy. And I was definitely fair- when there was an asswipe on the server, I'd pin him in place with +grabent and let other players punish him in whatever way they wanted to. I worked WITH the other players, not against them.



Anyways, I'm starting to wander off topic of what I wanted to say. My idea is, why not have 2 varieties of adminmod? AdminmodS for serious servers (only has kick and ban, some other necessities) and AdminmodF for fun servers (chicken, slay, slap, fireworks, etc.)? There could be a little announcement on the connect screen like "This server is running AdminmodS. Serious players only, please." or "This server is running AdminmodF. Have fun, and watch out for the chickens!" This would give players the perfect opportunity to tell what type of server they are connecting to, because server names are usually incoherent or decieving.

To be completely honest this admin mod non-sense is BS. I dont need your waves, I dont need your ridiculous motd. I want to play counter strike. I dont need to see your statsme even If I choose have to choose to turn them off. I dont need to be a chicken cause you felt like it. The whole aspect of cs does not revolve around admins. I dont even know why you say that. The real fact is without cs players you dont have a server to play on. Your admin does not make you a better person or a better player. I choose to play where I want and most servers that I play on dont have admin mod. Its just a wwcl server and thats it.

Admins love to abuse, and once they abuse your bindings they have the same mentality of myg0t who just love to ruin your cs day. So go ahead and play with the bindings all the more reason why valve will take that out in the future and make it impossible for admin abuse people who love to ruin their cs day.

its as simple as this: if you don't want to be pissed off, then don't play on adminmod servers, cause there is usually one mature admin and a bunch of dumbass ones.

Well I really don't understand why admins that run servers have to be such power hungry assholes. I have played on millions of servers where i was called a hacker (i don't), or I was camping the bomb as CT and the admin slapped me for camping. Of course, the next round, the admin will camp. If you tell him that, you will get slapped. Admins are just serious jackasses nowadays. They restart when they die, they change maps, they do whatever they want. Of course, they bought the server, but then why doesn't George W. Bush reserve the right to nuke his own country?

I think admins should grow up. Admin mod doesn't matter, an immature admin will find a way to be an asshole whether its rcon banid, or admin_llama. I just totally hate servers with immature admins. I guess you guys are right its their server, and I can't really rebut to that. But still. I hate that.

As for WC3, I think it's fun. After playing this game for like 3 years, it's about time a change came along. It's not that big of a deal, and if you don't like it, don't play it.

The same thing could be said about admins, but if youre playing on your favorite server where you get 25 ping, it's really not cool if you get banned for saying "hey admin youre camping",

Oh, another reason why I stopped playing cs is dod doest have alot of admin mod bs and admins for dod are real mature. Admin should come with age. Or there should be a way to limit admin abuse by the players. THAT WOULD BE MINT *V*
