We'll be taking a break next week (due to E3), but Counter-Point will be back in two weeks. If you have an idea of what rizzuh and I can talk about next, email me!
The client/server nature of modern FPS multiplayer games has helped expand their popularity and playability. It also means that none of the servers are the same, and the player's experience is subject to the whims of an admin who is under no ethical or job-related rules -- merely his own morals to guide the way forward.Like what you see? I was a server admin, once. This was way back in the beta 2 -- beta 5 days, before admin mod or really any special toys to make the admin's life easier. I'd like to say that I was completely upstanding, but I had my devious moments. I may have kicked someone I didn't like, or changed the gravity on a lark. There wasn't much I could do other then that -- things have changed considerably for the admin who wants to goof around.
