the main reason why I love so much Natural Selection is it dissuades idiots like poopcrap as they don't even show the scores!

NSPlayer: er... why can't I see the frags?

-> Because YOURE NOT SUPPOSED TO

*NSPlayer has left the game, never coming back because he is dissapointed of his inability to show off his fragfeast*

yup, the guy who can make you win the game is usually the one who frags the less (commander/gorge builder)

Keep in mind that alien frags are removed in 1.1. I am aware that aliens have frag counts but that's removed!

Back on CS: yes I love the 3 frags per objective thing. It's a great way for people to defuse the bomb. The fact it encourages people to defuse is I have been TKed on purpose to let somebody (try to) defuse the bomb, thus getting 3 frags himself! But he failed, blew up and asked us how to defuse next round

I didn't know such people played on steam Oo

If you ever played on steam, you'd have noticed however an ever-increasing amount of bomb planting/defusing. No more terrorist camper with AWP and bomb in dust T spawn.

I remember the beta we're you didn't get death tags, so everyone used the radio command 'Report in team' and most people in most servers that I played in always did. I quite liked it. It adds to the realism.

As for geting frags for planting the bomb rescuing hostages etc I am up for that as well. but I think a scoreboard similar to DoD would be even better. Frags for fraging people, points for doing mission objectives.

New weapons are always welcome, and the riot shield will breathe new life into the game tactically.

I think they should remove scores alltogether. The only points are gained by the total team and it factors in everyone's performance as a team, their objective, their skill but not only that...

I don't think having plant/defuse actions show up on the scoreboard will really affect anything. On most of the servers I play on, people persistently type "/rank" and that's the only sort of stats they pay attention to.

"OMG tHiS SuXxOrZ BOlloXxoRz OMG OMG FAK FAK Now all n00bs r GonNa juST PlAnt teh b0mb and defuse it and get on top of teh list with no L337 HaxX0r Skeelz at all OMG OMG!!!!!111!!1"

Now whats wrong with that?! just learn to stop them from doing that and maybe plant the bomb yourself sometimes, or guard the bombsites.

Personally i like the idea and i've been waiting for it since i started playing (around beta 5), but i do think 3 frags/points is too much per plant/defuse, i was hoping for something along the lines of 1 frag.

Oh yeah, i forgot. I also would like to see the option to disable weapons on servers, particularli due to all the awp whoring. Or atleast modify it to the DoD 3.1 style where u cant rung with it, it sways alot, even when crouched and that it takes around 2 seconds to fully see through the scope. Thas what i want most from CS.

The last time Gooseman did that, the community's screaming made the anti-1.4 people's cries seem like a hushed whisper, and it was quickly added back in. Objectives are great, that's what I play for, but there's still a part of the community that wants to play on 24/7 fy_iceworld servers and count their frags. It'd be pretty pointless for them if the frag count was removed.

The real problem is that, unfortunately, a few of those iceworld players spill over into normal games of CS at times, and that's where the problems begin.

1 frag would be easier to get just by deathmatching it out. 3 frags is much harder to come by in a round, so that many really encourages people to make an extra effort to get to the bombsite.

One more thought, which some of you may disagree with me on. This game is for fun. People tend to have more fun when they feel they're doing well. People tend to feel they're doing well when their ratio is higher. So the obvious conclusion is that, by throwing in a ton of extra, non-kill associated points, you've made everyone who's playing have more fun because they feel they're doing good. It's not impossible for many people on both teams to have a positive ratio, even if that ratio is more of a "usefulness" ratio rather than reflecting kills.

Flame on about "omg n00bs should know tehy sux0r and g3t crap scorez" and such, but honestly I think the "having fun" aspect is more important. Especially since it really doesn't sacrifice any aspect of match play to accomplish this.

There's already anti-awp plugins that servers can install, everything from disabling it completely to slapping, slaying and/or banning people who use it. Usually these servers mention it on their MotD and server title with a [NoAWP] tag or whatever.

I whole heartidly agree with that, it just never came to my mind.

Buying an AWP and getting slapped to 5 health is awesome when you kill the entire other team with it

The AWP (as much of a whore it is) does take skill to use.

The 3 frag thing dosent bother me, because I really do not pub at all, but If I do I usually get banned 1 / 3 servers I join. Any good player can vouch for me and they know how true it is. Thats why I leave pubbing to servers I trust, or a server where I know an admin. CAL-Invite servers are pretty good, but the problem is there is usually never an admin and if a hacker comes in, your forced to play with a lot less fun, or leave. An admin_ban thing would be good for situations like this, A time ban for 10 minutes or something, because most hackers will just get impatient and go raid another server rather than wait 10 minutes. HOWEVER, I understand people will abuse that in pubs, and it will give many of us another reason to loathe admin-mod.

Note: there is a definite date for Half Life 2 of september something (cant remember) and CS 1.6 is supposed to be out in what 12 days? So that just leaves CS:CZ as the wildcard in this survey. I highly doubt it will be out before CS 1.6 since thats so soon, but it could be before Half Life 2. In any case, wouldn't it be wiser for the CS:CZ people to wait and put CS:CZ on the Half Life 2 engine and just call it Counter-Strike 2, a mod for Half Life 2, it would be a lot wiser.

Wow, you get rewarded for planting/defusing BOMBS. Does Sierra take us as children; oh, you get an extra frag for being a good little boy for defusing that bomb! Good god. Maybe I'm being too harsh, since you get extra frags, or "points", in UT2003, but thats a whole different game, with captrue the flag and all. But it would be kinda nice for actually getting credit for defusing a bomb. Now I'm just confusing myself. Well, I'm going to comit suicide now. Bye!
