Some people were bitching at the beginning of the first page about Hammer being crappy so i just figured that there was another editor and it might be better. I was just curious which editor people used, that's all.

People would complain about Notepad being too advanced and complicated, given the chance...

Damn your advanced "GUI" things... just give me a hex editor and MS-DOS 5.5, and I'll be mapping in no time!

Anyway, the bitching was simply because, as with any 3D modeling software, there's a lot you can do with the Hammer editor, and so it takes a while to learn how to use the program. The same is true of, say, 3D Studio (insert version here), but that hasn't stopped that from being one of the most popular 3D modeling packages around. Complexity is frustrating when you're new, but ultimately it's nice to have extra features.

Kind of like how CS is frustrating when you play it for the first time.
