OMG THE MP23 HOLDS .23 KISHOV BULLETS AND ITS BLATANTLY OBVIOUS THAT THE ONE IN THE GAME IS FIRING .24 KOSHIV BULLETS.

LORDY LORDY IS HE PULLING THAT PIN DURING RELOAD? NO NO!! ITS PUSH ONLY!! AAAAHHH CS IS RUINED.

GUys who cares if the gun realistically hold 45 bullets, but the one in game only holes 30. Its just that...a game. If you want realism play DOD.

Blankster. I know my spelling is not perfect. It never will be. I'm not English and the English language is not native to me. You did comprehend the article, didn't you? If not, I'm sorry. You're saying that it's just 'fake document made by someone wanting to be cool'. Well....no! And I did not just open up a book from 1980 and make a cheap comparison. I'm actually a shooting-instructor on this weapon for the military. So I do know a thing or 2 about it. It's up 2 U if you wanna accept it or not.

Accuracy International offers a rifle in the AW series that is fitted for the .338 Lapua Magnum (8,6x70mm) round. Formerly known as the AWM it is now named AWSM and only chambered for the .338 Lapua Magnum. The AWM is chambered for 300 Win Mag only. The AW is chambered for .308 (7,62x51mm NATO).

Accuracy International renamed their whole assortment. In the past AWSM and AWM both were named AWM; the name AWP (like the AWM was named in the first CS versions) is used no more. It was chambered for the .308.

Take a look at their (Website)

          BTW

There are 2 models of AWM and the both use .308 Winchester munition. The name .338 Lapua Magnum is the name of one of the AWM's and the other is called .300 Win Magnum.

It would be a bit crazy to call a rifle ".338 Lapua Magnum" even if it would be chambered for the .338.

Interesting how every site on the net that describes the AWM says it can carry .338 Lapua Magnum ammo but this guy claims it can't.
            lol thats what i thought!

            because it is:

            AW/M = 0.338 calibre, 5 rounds per magazine

AW/P = 0.308 calibre, 10 rounds per magazine (slightly shorter barrel length)

and my dad used to have an AK-74M, the later version of the AK-47. never fired it though

boring. Will people quit comparing CS to real life?

If you crouched and dropped a grenade under your knees, you would die. If someone ran up to you and put 8 glock bullets in your arms, you could not jump, turn in mid air, and take them down, then run a few blocks to take out someone else. These and many other unrealistic aspects of CS are obvious.

Sure, we'd love some realism. Add character shadows to cs. Give some uncontrollable drift on the scope while sniping. Make players that are at 5hp slow and less reactive. If someone falls from 40 feet into a 2 foot deep creek, give them some damage. etc etc etc

But it's not going to happen (at least anytime soon) so people need to deal with it. Deal with unbalances weapons that are not realistic! It's not that hard.

yo Trevize do you think having been trained by the military make you better at cs? my mom heard about ex-seals kickin ass in some fps, and i have a hypothesis that there is a deeper level of tactics that most people dont realize/understand. i am also slowly starting to bring everything i have learned together in what hopefully will eventually be a fairly comprehensive guide. any thoughts?

well considering the weapons in counter-strike are hardly realistic at all there is no point. ive found that dod more accurately shows that if you shoot someone they will die. not like in cs where it takes maybe 12 bullets to the chest to drop someone

Interesting article but keep in mind of this found on CS FAQ:

Q: I am a weapons expert and you did gun x all wrong, here's how you do it..!

A: Not every weapon will be perfectly accurate or realistic.

It's just a game. Nobody really gives a crap about whether it is really realistic or not. It just tries to be. Just enjoy the game. Oh and by the way, that author is a gun freak. He's sick

ps: Did you know that silencer actually increases your accuracy and takes away a lot of power? And the strategy guides say it loses a bit of power and loses accuracy. Another fact CS guns aren't totally realistic

                      from the article:

"I will in this article try to illustrate the difference between some of the more popular guns and their counterpart from real life."

he isnt saying anything should be changed, he is just pointing out similarities and differences for anyone who cares.

fact is, there will be no complete realism in any computer game; cs is nowhere close to realism, and america's army and raven shield is the closest u'll ever get [right now] to realism. the half life engine doesn't accomondate for realism because of the nature of the original game; therefore, cs, dod, firearms, etc must follow suit. however i gotta admit cs has that perfect balance between semi/attempted realism and fun factor. its wat makes it so successful.

just to note, there is a .338 lapua arctic warfare magnum, but there isnt an arctic warfare police offered in that caliber [the awp of cs] - .338 is an ammunition type that responded to a need for more beef than a .308 Winchester but not as hard a recoil as the .50 cal. this awm [even awp] model has 5 rounds in a mag, not 10. and of course the sniping in cs is complete bs but hey its cs. the m4a1's forward assist is optional but triggering the bolt release pin is required, if and only if u completely deplete your ammo [the one in the chamber and the rest of the mag]. the charging handle is only for charging and unjamming. if u want to see correct handling of the m16/m4 series and the m249, go play america's army.

anyways, every gun on cs is wrong in some form or another. ejector ports on the wrong side, cocking/charging the weapon everytime it draws, slides of pistols locking back everytime u reload, unlimited reloading of ammo, the knife, jumping, the need to buy ur weapon [for the cts at least], even ur speed. the list goes on.

                        hi.
