Not really a new technology , it's the particle system , you can look it work in actual version of dod v1.0 .

You can make smoke ,fire , explosion , rain and much other effect with it

And the most important the particle system can kill your framerate :)

There is a variable to turn it off in dod. So just turn it off in cs if it kills your framerate.

seems like it's back online! just played it... the update just sucks. The deagle sounds are HORRIBLE wow. Aztec's rain is kewl, i hope other maps adobt the new technology.

also, i hope theres an option to turn off the rain cause it gets annoying after awhile (dont flame me) but its still cool... this can get annoying in scrims and matches.... ALSO my fps is crap again on aztec.. outside the CT dd my fps drops, does this happen to you guys?

I can get into steam now and play with all the menus. But I can't physically play the game.

oh my god this is the forth time today theyve disabled steam (i logged out). cant these people keep this up and running for at least 1 hour.

i get into a game with 9 bots but nooooo, the damn debugging crap wont lemme play, and now i cant log back onto steam either, COMON JUST LEMME PLAY ONE ROUND @LEAST!!!!!!

Wow, that update is rather homosexual. You cannot read the new fonts, because it's shadowed in gray, rather than outlined in black. It's extremely hard to read in Dust. The new knife has one of the shittiest skins I've ever seen. The new sounds are awful too. As is the new scoreboard.



However, the bots are pretty cool. I was playing some 9 on 1, and all my kills were headshots. It was funny.

I've got no problems with steam, but its kind of laggy, even on my 2.4 gigahertz processor, and my 1337-ass cable modem, so I just went back to my favorite server in 1.5. For some strange reason, I think Valve likes me. I dont think 1.6 will be realeased, like that other Valve project, PowerPlay.
