Update 2: Eric has just uploaded a new version "hlds4111c1_beta.exe" to the FTP. This one should have fixed the crashing problem.



Update: Eric Smith has said to hold up on downloading the update. Apparently, it likes to crash.



The lovable Eric Smith uploaded HLDS 4.1.1.1c to VALVe's FTP. There's a short but still important list of updates. E-mail Eric if any problems are encountered.

my server has had a few (new) problems since i installed the latest HLDS 4.1.1.1:

"Fixed format string crash bug in logging" the server would crash between maps when it tried to open a new log file.

"Fixed custom decals failing" some people's decals would work, most would not, or the server would show the wrong spray from the clients. another bug not mentioned is the CS client crashing when you see a knife kill. that is a statsme script problem) if you use the new GUI server interface a RCON admin can not restart the server because it takes a few mouse clicks to do so.



update: i installed the new "c" HLDS version. server has not crashed yet and sprays are working.

I installed it over BETA A and it crashes every time I try and load it!!

Tried reinstalling BETA A and find I have to reinstall every thing!!!!

After you get to site click FILE, LOGON and enter the username and password.



UPDATE: A beta c1 has been posted on the FTP server and it fixed my problem!!

the c beta a few days ago was linux only:

win june 5th

linux may 30th

linux c1 update june 5th



c1 works like a charm for me.

lol i thought it be only fair for me to say something considering the steam topic has 400+ comments.... how come on dedicated servers that are close to me i get 30-40 ping but far awa servers i get 300 and 56k gets same ping on all servers... (i have cable not 56k)

sometimes i wonder if i should run 56k on west coast servers and cable on east

I refuse to run x.1.1.1 on my server until they allow for admins to be able to decide whether or not they want the server.cfg exec'd at the start of each new map. If you use Halfd like I do you need to be able to have this as an option.
