    Speeding Up Your 56k

After a long downtime, Planet Maniac is back up. One of Planet Maniac's most important features is a really (really) in-depth guide to optimizing a 56k modem for online gaming.
[...] Make sure you're modem isn't a winmodem. These rely on processing power rather than their own hardware, so it slows everything down and playing games on the internet might not even work AT ALL. If you have a winmodem, buy a new hardware modem and you'll see GREAT improvements in pings I recommend the Diamond 56 E Pro.
When I say it's really (really) in-depth, I mean it's really (really) in-depth. If you don't believe me, take a look, because it's really in-depth.

About two years ago I personally bought broadband cable, basically only because I played Counter-Strike. I'd say it's the single most important improvement I did to the system I play on. If you can't get broadband, this article will most likely improve your connection speed, because it's really (really) in-depth.

Yea, same here. My ISP sped up a lot too since I first got it, I have a 2.5 MBps connection now. Plus, with cable, it's easier to get updates and other files for games.

I only played CS for a few months when I was on Dial Up. I rarely played then. I didn't start playing CS seriously til I got a ram upgrade, because 64MB of ram doesn't cut it.

But I noticed that in Uneral Tournament, I didn't have much connection problems on it with 56k. Stable netcode, oh yea.

Can't the ethernet card (dial-up modem) in your PCI slot only hold/run at the highest 5600b/s, noting the highest connection speed is 5.6kb/s. or 56K modem.

                Nighthawk, this one's for you.
Planet Maniac was originally designed as a project that would help me to learn HTML.
Now it is a place for him to learn photoshop graphics. Have fun.

P.S. Is this article in-depth or just another hack?

These commands turn of view bobbing when running, and improves most peoples aim (NOTE: This is NOT cheating):

                  cl_bob "0"

                  cl_bobup "0"

                  cl_bobcycle "0"
                  OH SHIT HAX!!!!!!!!!!!!

ehehe. i have so many problems with this faq i don't know where to start. first of all the guy goes on for half of the article pasting little quotes from people to make his article look beefed up. Second of all, ALL THE DOWNLOAD LINKS DON'T WORK. That one really pissed me of. Third, he never mentions if some parts do not rely on other parts or if they all have to be done to work.. fourth, this article is really (really) in depth but that means shit when it's a shit article
