Then again, Ghengis is stoned half the time we're playing... ...but thanks buddy. :P You're not too bad on your broadband either, even when we're playing on servers halfway across the world from you. :)

As far as the cost of broadband, plenty of CS players are either young teens living with their parents with no real source of income, and a few of us are older players trying to support ourselves on limited incomes. If you're in the first category, your parents simply might not care to pay the extra cost, and in the second category, you might not have an extra $40-50 monthly.



I use a free internet service, sadly enough. I *ahem* tweaked it so that it's much faster and more reliable while connected, but it still randomly disconnects every once in a while. Anyway, the point is seeing as the only internet fees right now for some of us are a standard phone bill, cable or DSL is enough extra to break our budgets. Oh well, enough whining from me -- I'm sure it's about the first "standard of living" upgrade that will come with a better/second job, when I find one.

That's what jobs are for. McDonalds, amongst many other reputable places hire young people, so there is no real excuse. What, these people can't take 1-2 weekends and work for 6-7 hours and then have their internet payed off for? That seems to be a weak excuse.



I pay for everything I own, with my own damn income and I am "young".

Actually, checked with verizon(yuck) this morning and presto dsl is now available... with their MSN8 special. Can't wait for the power of the butterfly.

err, a map doesnt actually increase your ping, but hey, we cant know everything right?

even if you get 30fps, thats equivalent of 33ms latency between current frame and next frame. so its not all that bad.

I kind of disagree this, cause if you take a look at maps like vertigo, ping clearly increases by 50-100% for everyone. This was seen on different servers, what excludes the server's fps.
