On as_oilrig the Ts can buy the Scout anyway even though it's not on the buy menu.... just press 5 and you get it.... so really all they need to do is fix the menu bug (so you can see the Scout in the menu) and take out the AWP for Oilrig..... hell, just take out the AWP from all maps actually.....
1.Add all of the weapons back in. Half the fun of CS is that I can run around with a USP one round an MP5 the next and an Aug the round after, but in AS_ mode they have removed about a third of the guns from each team and by doing that they have removed some of the fun. It can't be for balance reasons or the T's(who are trying to assassinate the VIP)wouldn't have the AWM and no Scout and therefore be able to complete there objective in one shot from across the map, they would have the Scout and no AWM instead if it was for balance reasons.Comment

Mouth, obviously you didn't understand what I meant by jumping AWP. I'm not talking about trying to jump to dodge an AWP. Although "dodging" in counter-strike isn't much of a skill.
I'm talking about snipers being able to run full speed, hop, and then instantly snipe with dead on accuracy upon landing.Comment

Splendid article. I started playing during BETA 7.0, on cs_militia. It was one of the most incredible experiences I've had in a game and it instantly got my hooked. I even remember when I introduced each of my friends to the game during 1.0, and they unfortunately went retail, whereas I kept faithful to the Mod route. I wish I had listened more to my friend where for the entire session of lunch back in high school he would speak of this game which he was addicted to. There's a special feeling to talking to people getting in the game at 1.4, 1.5 about the early days, even though I regrettingly joined in the "late" early days. Maybe I'm just getting old :P ~ Long live Counter-Strike.Comment

same here! the deagle sure was a killing machine! there were times where i would use it all the time. and use the money to buy weapons for teammates :)
I remember when the deagle was more accurate than in 1.5 - least maybe it seemed more accurate before. I used to be able to snipe with a deagle for the first couple rounds and get a ton of kills.T|2i|34L wrote..
frickin huge maps tend to put a large load on the server, and having 32 players even more so, u need a damn fast machine to give people low pings all round. (biggest load is when all 32 players are firing at the same time, craziness).
I agree with the comments about havanna and Piranesi - maps like storm and torn are also so frickin huge that unless you're playing on a 32 person server they suck. I like chateau - it's pretty cool, but not very popular.T|2i|34L wrote..

Oh, the ever so fun memories of CS.... I cannot brag that ive been around since beta 1, but I can brag about since Beta 3. And not many of the people who played in the beta's are still around. When Counter-Strike went retail, the game became deathmatch (it was only slightly deathmatch at the time however, teamplay DID exist), and many of the earlier players just quit.
The best part about the days of old were joining a server, sayung, "hey" or "hi" and actually getting warm, polite responses in return. When I do that now I get, "stfu nub" or "wtf r u????".
Anyone agree with me?Comment
