i believe this was the imfamous Art of Lag Central contest. Guess they must be going under or something since most of the clans I know that had servers with them dropped them recently cause of the inconsistency in pings and lack of any support.

You are right Sam. The backbone provider is Canadian. We've got peering with various Tier 1 providers and regional providers (re: the people who connect your cable and dsl modems) in multiple POPs in the US of A and Canada. Heck, our testing datacenter in San Jose, CA (southern california ) even says Canadian, eh! Kinda wierd. But we remain pleased with its connectivity!
