The reviews of Star Trek Elite Force 2 are all saying how the Quake 3 engine being used is rapidly getting out of date, and the HL2/Doom3/UT2003 engine is the way of the future. And the engine being used on CZ is at least, if not more, out of date than Quake 3!!!!! If HL was based around Quake 2, from 1997, then CZ will be running on software which can be traced back 6 years, when we were all running P75's. Believe me, this dead dog of a game that should have been out 2 years ago, when the decomposition started to set in, will be buried soon enough [/edit]

Why bother coming to a cs fan site then? U type false information when in fact u couldnt not tell the difference between a damn good game and a shiny box o tricks. I know I would rather have playability over good looks anytime.

For those of you complaining about the 1337 krew model, the very first 1337 krew model was supposed to be an arab looking guy. He didn't have a turban, but he had the.. poncho looking clothes.. you know? Anyway, personally I'd rather see an updated of the current 1337 krew model because I think they could actually make him look cool, and the new model just looks so cartoony.



Gun models, eh, I don't care as long as they aren't purple and green. Except I cannot get used to seeing that new MP5. Is it just me or does that flashlight make it look extremely huge? Also the gun's firing sprites look retarded. I watched the trailer, didn't even look like the sprites were appearing where they should. Probably will be fixed before the release though.



In the trailer it shows the new AWP/AWM, looks basically the same to me except that it's brown. Glad to see they finally threw in some new death animations. Also the walking looks more realistic, everything about the way they move looks more realistic, except the way they shoot the guns. When you shoot a gun, the recoil jerks you back and slightly up, but in CZ it looks like they shot and then were punched in the face.

I love the game too, I play it every day and enjoy it more than any other. But the fact of the matter is that a huge amount of people who buy PC games don't, and it is this customer base that valve are trying to reach with CZ. Doing this on such an old engine isn't gonna work. I know that I play CS for it's community and the fact that it is such a social game to play. CZ isn't designed like that, it's a single player game. And the target audience for that, while they may have accepted a game based on HL 2 years ago, won't bother now. Look at it from their point of view; they have £35/$50 in their hands, and a fairly up to date rig (let's say GF4 and a 2.6 ghz CPU). What they gonna go for come september time; HL2, DoomIII or an ancient looking CZ.



I will be buying the game, and I will always love CS even when this site is long gone. But as far as the CZ game is going, Valve have simply left it way too late for it to be significant to anyone but hardcore CS players. This game will bomb, in all but our opinions. This is why I think it will be canned, because Valve/Sierra/Vivendi or whoever ends up publishing it would do better to pump their cash into something that will actually give a return.

I like most of the new player skins, but the L337 Krew needs to change, I like the old one better than that, actually I've seen an updated version of him, I'll try to find the link.

Some will carry on playing CS (coz they're cheap)

Some will play CS:CZ

Some will play CS2 (when it comes out)



Now unless I haven't been paying enough attention (and I probs haven't) tis a silly situation because either all will play CS2, or the community will split. And that isn't a good thing.
