I love the look of all the new CT player models, maybe the SAS helmet with the gas mask could be shrunk down a bit, and the Seal Team 6 model should stay in green, not all the CT models should be the same blue/black/gray. At least one slightly off color would be nice for maps in a forest/jungle environment. I'm surprised they didn't have use the military camo. That would've been really nice.



The T models seem.... weak. The Militia model looks great though, but that new 1337 Krew skin is a joke. Watch the complaints about racial insensitivity start flying. I mean, the turban...? The sandals...? I thought 1337 Krew was supposed to be "professional". 1337, not bad looking Arab stereotype. Drug Lord looks nice too.



The gun models... better than the defaults, but I mean, you could pull off SotDs from here that only get a 5 or 6 rating that look better than what Ritual is giving us. Give me ReggieDog's Colt with M203 anyday over that Colt. And that USP looks nasty. The G3/SG-1 looks more like some kid's toy rifle, and the Galil looks skinnier than a anorexic super model. Amazing how some people do things for free out of the love for doing it and do a better job than people who get paid to do it.... boggles the mind doesn't it?



At least the hands and gloves look oh so pretty.



And I thought Japanese SWAT was only making an appearance in the XBox CS...?!

Theres no need to make a fuss about all this. Like I said above, the game is being canned within the next few weeks, I bet my bottom dollar on it



[edit] I mean face facts people. The reviews of Star Trek Elite Force 2 are all saying how the Quake 3 engine being used is rapidly getting out of date, and the HL2/Doom3/UT2003 engine is the way of the future. And the engine being used on CZ is at least, if not more, out of date than Quake 3!!!!! If HL was based around Quake 2, from 1997, then CZ will be running on software which can be traced back 6 years, when we were all running P75's. Believe me, this dead dog of a game that should have been out 2 years ago, when the decomposition started to set in, will be buried soon enough [/edit]

Player models look good, weapons more or less don't.



Maybe CZ (and CS, for that matter) should have an alternate, higher-detail sets of models somewhere, in a different folder when the game is installed, for people with faster computers to choose from.

It's actually running on a modified Quake 1 engine. But that doesn't mean anything as it's almost entirely modified with almost nothing of the original engine left.

valve licensed a major part of the sound and memory management code from quake 1, but also a portion from quake 2, the sky rendering i believe as well as some coloured lighting methods.

The current engine has seen so many updates, it's gotten ridiculous. With all these new effects and add ins, updates, etc.



Have you seen DoD? Another HL mod? The water splash and particle effects from sandbags getting blasted is quite detailed, way better than just the old simple HL engine.



And don't forget, unlike games like Unreal 2003, etc, you don't need a ultra-1337 gaming rig for HL mods. That's part of the appeal, Valve knows it can sell the game to more people, not everyone out there is going to have a 3.0 GHz Pentium 4 with a Radeon 9800 when it's available. A lot of people have been using the same computer for 3 or 4 years without any upgrades.

ur saying u dont need a fast computer to play updated valve games, but with every new release, the fps on my CS has kept dropping. i used to run CS at 1152x864 no problems, getting max frame rates all the time. after a few updates, its down to 1024x768. and even now with the new steam updates etc and other graphical enhancements, my fps at 1024x768 is barely playable.

in summary, i need to upgrade in order to achieve the same performance i had when playing cs 2 years ago.
