I've had it used on my by abusive server admin's... ie. they make me drop all my weapons when I rush into the warehouse on assault or what-have-you. I find it can be useful for some admins if they dont want people using Shields or AWP's in servers. But other than that... its just abused.



Btw, Just played CSX at my local EB Games. I think I was playing with the Easy bots because it took them like 7 secs to shoot at me.. and I could knife them pretty easy..

Why is it that people will spend hundreds of hours practicing within the game to get better, but somehow think that taking 5 minutes to download an auto-buy script is too much hassle? Whether we like it or not, there are plenty of servers with no buy time. Quite simply, you're going to get left behind if you're doing it the old way.



Sure, back in my earlier days of CS playing, I was always the first one out of spawn on servers with 2 second buy times, just because I have the not-so-rare ability to hold down my W key while pressing B and a few numbers. Once I got on a 56k, though, the menus didn't pop up fast enough to do that anymore, so now I use buy scripts. After the CS1.6 menu change, I don't forsee myself ever going back to the old way, really.



Anyway, for me personally learning how to write scripts really added to the CS experience, just because I got to be a bit more familiar with how the game handles things, and have a little of my own effort show up in the game. But hey, I've got no problem with people downloading packs.



Finally, most likely pretty much EVERYONE has seen execclient used before, but nearly half of them probably just aren't even aware of what it is and how it's used.

I always use scripts, i have a demo recording script, and sensitivity cycler script, and a buyscript. I really love my buyscript, all i have to do is press 8 9 6 0 . and i have an M4A1, primary ammo, secondary ammo, vesthelm, defuser, and an HE.

Wow, to those saying its really hard to script in 1.6, you don't know what your talking about.



Everyone knows how to bind keys ( I should hope), now all you need to know to script is the name of the weapon.



eg:



bind k "m4a1"



or for more than one weapon



bind k "m4a1; vesthelm; hegren"



Yep...take a 1337 h4x0r to figure those ones out...

nope, Never had to deal with lagging menus because when I lost my @home cable for 4 months... I refused to play cs with 56k. :P

maybe u speak for american servers that have no buy time.

almost all european servers have buy time, 2 secs or even more. i prefer 4 secs myself. and even on no buy time servers, i still catch up to even the most hardcore scripter

Yep - cuz even nubbs use buy scripts and then run with an awp instead of their knife/nade.

Well, I plan to make my own scripts.. I've used them before (nextwish's one for when I played 1.5), then I switched to 1.6 when the first beta of steam and whatnot was released, for a while, there were'nt any options for buy scripts that were simple. Even when some came out, I did'nt bother. But really, even after mastering the b42,o2,o4,b14, and tappin down the , and . keys, I'd rather be using scripts, and that's what im going to do now.

A lot of you are complaining about lag and buying.



Hint : How about you find a non-laggy server, there are TONS of them. I can buy anything I need in 2-3 seconds, and in CAL, you get 8 seconds to buy, so it's not like it takes too long.



And if the server dosnt have freezetime, buy on the run. And bind "o" to the equip menu, instead of pressing B-8-2, just press O-2

Buy scripts will always be faster. One or two keys and you're done. It's simple math. How many keystrokes do you need to buy something without scripts? How many with? Scripts win hands down.



If you non-script guys were women, you would be saying "I don't want an epidural when I have my child because it's important to feel the maximum amount of pain!"

YAY!! Now they aren't useless. I think it's a great change to CS. It adds more strategy/fun, etc. I will probably use them alot more now.



EDIT: I was using them and pwning all! w00t w00t! They own. They g2 be the next awp.
